When I was forced to sell my home in 1992 I found The Lakes Apts. and loved it even though I thought I'd never be happy in an apartment. Later on I moved out and remembered the Lakes when we had a house fire and moved back after 12 years. I was truly homeless and covered with soot when I signed up to rent a corporate unit until finding a permanent home in a one bedroom overlooking a park and creek today. I'm happy and grateful to the staff who are truly exceptional. Yes, we've had problems as all communities do. I've even been broken in to and robbed but it was my fault for not locking my window on a hot summer day. Residents who are loud and obnoxious or who disregard the rules are ususally not invited to extend their lease. I think of moving sometimes, just for change but I never find anything better. The only problem for me is that my living room and bedroom are facing the parking lot which means more noise.
