Decent but spendy

Years at this apartment: 2000 - 2002
I lived at the Overlook for about a year & 1/2. The rooms were decent & pretty typical for apartment living--if you're downstairs, you'll get some noise from above is your upstairs neighbors aren't considerate (duh!). Be warry if they are looking to put you in apartments facing Murry--this is a very busy street (and very noisy, and I'm not all that sensitive to noise--especially problematic if your job or lifestyle lend to sleeping in late). This should only really be a problem in the front four rentals from building 1, and the end 4 on building 2.
The staff seemed friendly, fixed issues quickly (maintenance guys especially were nice)--at least for the few interactions we had (I'm low maintenance...)
My only real grips are:
1) the $$. Every time your lease is up, they will attempt an increase, even when they shouldn't. When our lease came up right before we moved, they started by "offering" only a 10% increase. It wasn't until we gave notice that they started to make offers that would have actually kept us in the building (too little, too late...arrangements had already been made to move).
2) They trimmed already tight parking by putting in garages--I know this is a revenue generator for apt complexes, but wouldn't it be nice to elicit feedback from tenants to see IF THEY WANT THEM'!'
If you've got the money, not bad. Otherwise, look around...
