Much better than the last place...

Certainly it wasn't 100% perfect, but Waterhouse was a nice place to live.
First and foremost, the entire staff there (when I lived there, it was Cassandra, Lori and Stefani) were absolutely great - any requests were promptly handled immediately. No problems with rent or getting help - and there were usually two of them in the office. If one of them was out, they had a temp worker to handle tenant issues (i.e. rent, maintenance requests) - but that was rare. Getting them on the phone was easy, but I honestly preferred to walk over there.
When I moved in in 1998, the townhouse my fiancee and I rented was newly remodeled - new appliances, carpet, paint, siding, etc. Plenty of room, however not much storage space - closets. Rarely if ever heard noise from the neighbors, and even the traffic on 158th Avenue was hard to hear - even after rush hour, with all the buses returning home.
The grounds were very well-kept, and the park nearby was a nice place for a walk and to feed the ducks - watch for the nutrea though!
Parking however is hard to get - there are two "overflow" lots at the south end of the complex, but they are out of the way so I tried very hard NOT to park a second car there. The carports are close by, but VERY narrow. Larger vehicles won't fit. I did request to change my carport to get a better spot, and they were very happy to accomodate my request. Parking by the south pool, the driveway is very narrow, and the maintenance people would often park their trucks or golf carts in the street, making it VERY difficult to back out. (I contacted the office twice, and both times this was resolved very quickly; however I shouldn't have had to ask twice. Not the office fault, just lazy maintenance people.)
For other maintenance issues, the requests were handled promptly - often in two-four hours, and the work done right the first time. We only had to ask for maintenance assistance two or three times.
In all, I would definitely recommend Waterhouse Place. A little on the expensive side, but there are other complexes that are even MORE expensive, yet the units are not as nice (or as large).
