Going Downhill

This place is going downhill. It's waay overpriced for what you get and the rent keeps going up and up. The new manager is awful and borderline nasty. It's become noisy and they're renting to anyone. Had an apartment with too many guys in it and one raped a young girl here. Many people had complained about the amount of guys living in the small apartment but nothing was done.
We had the exterior painted last summer-we were told it would take a couple of weeks. 3 months later the painters were still here annoying us with demands to, once again, move our stuff off the porch. The paint job was LOUSY and started to peel immediately. You get what you pay for.
There's mold in some of the apartments-they just paint the place and rent it out again.
The park behind the complex has become noisy and a favorite place for 2am basketball games, drug deals, and gang graffiti.
I hear that this was once a very nice place to live, but that is changing. And the rent is way to high for the area. Anyone driving down Center Street can see that the street is becoming more and more economically depressed. The Beaverton police says this is a bad gang neighborhood.
Think long and hard before renting here.

The issue with the little girl was over a year ago that this happened and it has been the only bad thing that has happened here.Same thing with the painting. As for the manager, You can't blame her for things that happened before she got here. Not to mention the other things were before the new manager too. She has her moments but most everyone dose. And it's not the manager's who raise rents. You should be looking at the owner's. They are the ones who raise the rents on us. The Neighborhood is not that great but for the area this is a nice place. Have you seen what you have to choose from on this street? I mean let's face it...these are the nicest ones in the area. I have had issues with late night noise from the park but I don't blame that on the management! That is the cities problem. Same with the gang stuff. The park isn't even part of the apartments. The cops will also tell you that this is one of the quietest apartments in this area. As for the staff here, given what they walked into here have done what they can. At least there is someone in the office 90% of the time now when before there was never anyone there. I can remember lots of times trying to go to the office to get something done and no one would be there. I don't think they are doing to bad of a job if you ask me. And if your that unhappy...why are you still living in your apartment? I like mine and will choose to stay.

You need to re-read my post. I never blamed everything on the new manager I was just stating what was going on in the complex. Where do I blame the manager for the noise and crime in the park? And as we're all still living with the lousy paint job I don't see how you can feel that little problem is solved. I loved living here the first 5 years, but the place has gone downhill-along with the area around the complex. But the rents keep going up and up as the area gets noisier and dirtier. The rents are way too high for this depressed area. And where did I blame the manager for that? I know she doesn't make those decisions. And as far as her being in the office more-maybe-but she doesn't answer her phone while there, all I get is the answering machine 9x out of 10. It amazes me that I wrote this review only yesterday and already you have been on this site (why if you're so blissfully happy here are you on an apartment review site? Somethings fishy here folks), misreading and misinterpreting what I wrote. And, oh yeah, when my lease is up late this summer I will be moving. So calm down.

I read your posting and there are things in there that are just not true. Your second sentence you say that the manager is "awful and borderline nasty" which is just not true. She is nice to anyone I have ever seen her talk to. I have been here for a long time and yes the area is not getting any better but that does not mean that these apartments are getting trashy either. It is still quiet for the most part and there are people who live here that have been here for a lot of years that don't plan one ever moving. I have friends that live here too. They are happy with the apartments they have. OK, I will give you the painting comment. That was a bad experience for everyone!!!! I myself never wish to go through that again. My sister-in-law and brother are looking to move here from out of state and had come on to this site to read some reviews on other apartments and checked this one and told me about it so I thought I would give my own review in response to yours. After all this is a "Public" site. I just think it is wrong of someone to go and state things that happened a long time ago and no more issues like that since just to make a place look bad to people how are looking for some place to move to. I am happy to say that I live here and my sister-in-law and brother will be too! There is no way you would catch me in the other places around here but, this place IS nice. Anywhere you go there is bound to be something happen that you???re not happy with. Seems like someone is unhappy and has too much time on their hands so they want to bring up the past and make it look worse than it really is. All I have to say is that I love it here and get over it.

I have lived here for 6 years. Granted, no place is immune from problems. The management has been gracious and always has addressed my concerns. I would never live in the complexes that surround me. Willow grove has always upheld a higher standard, and the modest rent increase has been well worth it. I feel secure and safe. I recommend this complex to anyone who is looking for an apartment in the central Beaverton area.
