My mother and I have lived in the apartments since 1996. The management is changed so often that I can not remember who the newest manager is. The rent is raised almost every 6 months. When we moved in the rent was $479 for a 2 bed 1.5 bath the rent is now at $579.
The rent is supposed to be based off your income, so whay do they take 60% of my moms monthly income' The walls are very thin I can hear my neighbors talking while upstairs in my bedroom.

I have lived here for a little over 2 years now, and have seen the management change more then the seasons. The rent increases every 6 months 'based' loosely on what the tenant is earning. There seems to be a disconnection with the tenants and no regard for the tenants, safety, cleanliness, and property. One apartment caught fire because of bad electrical wiring, someone was sent in who is not an electrician and 'fixed' it. Another family with an infant found another apartment, needed more time in the old apartment because their new apartment was not ready yet. They asked for another week and was told they would have to pay the full rent plus charges tacked on for being there daily. They had no choice but to leave because they could not afford what the management wanted. The apartment stood empty for 3 weeks. And the apartments still have the old base heaters that cost a lot to run. For a two bedroom unit, it costs one tenant $200.00 a month to run the heat. A tenant was actually told by the management to turn off all the base heaters and to use a portable heating unit in her bedroom during the winter months. The management never took in account or were concerned about the water pipes, which could freeze and cause more of problem to the situation. And the management is not held accountable for what happens when they give out this advice and the tenant follows it. Yes these are HUD housing, low income apartments, but the conditions in which the tenant has to live is below standards of a decent living.
