Clean place to crash...

Years at this apartment: 2001 - 2003
I was transferred by my job to the Clackamas area. So, in a hurry, I needed an apartment. What I really cared about was that it was clean, had a washer/dryer inside the apartment, dishwasher & a good location. I found all of these elements in "The Crossings." At least I thought I did.
When I toured the apartment, I neglected to look out back of the apartments. Foolishly enough, I neglected to look out back until I was awoken by a loud train passing by my first night living there. No one mentioned the train to me before. There was something like 3-4 sets of tracks out back where trains stop, load up and go... and always in the middle of the night.
I grew used to the trains and wasn't mad at the landlords. It was my fault for not looking out back to begin with.
Over my year and a half living there, management has always been pleasant. They give you perks for renewing your lease, like a new ceiling fan, medicine cabinet or whatever. They're cool like that.
The noise factor was only OK. I had a mullet head guy directly upstairs from me that loved to play guitar loud. I play electric guitar too. But this guy was loud. Especially in the middle of the night. But the noise does leak through walls and floors.
The landscape was always neatly maintained. It always looked good. And the workers were curtious and nice, as well.
Fred Meyer shopping center was directly across the street for all your grocery needs. Plus Taco Bell, Wendy's, KFC, McDonalds, Denny's & Elmer's are all within close walking distance if you're not up for cooking. I never was.
When I lived there, extended cable was free with rent. Just plug in and go. I don't know if they still offer that to this day. But it was awesome to not have to worry about paying the cable bill. If only they did that with the phone bill too! All bills to be included in your rent' How cool would that be'
Overall, I was happy in my clean, spacious apartment. I had privacy, and that's what matters most to me. The train, the loud mulleted neighbor... that didn't matter. I grew used to those things over time.
Would I live there again... Yes, if I ever HAD TO live in Clackamas again.
