Alright, I don't get what's up with all these bad reviews for these apartments. It seems to me that the only people that write them are the people who are pissed off and want to get back at them. Here is what I feel an unbiased view on Crown Court...

I have lived here for about 5 months now. Yes I am aware this is not that long, but I have experienced the good and the bad. I moved in and they tried to tell me that the mold was really due to people being messy and it was mainly for the people in the lower apartments. Well, let me assure you this is not true. There is definitely a problem in any apartment you are in. I live on the top floor and am extremely tidy and still had some major mold problems in the beginning. At first we were keeping the heat on in every room and not having a problem. Then we got massive PGE bill and we decided to turn down the heat. Then the mold came in full force.

I went to the office to complain and was told by 1 employee that it was "common sense" to be constantly cracking your windows everyday and all this other housekeeping stuff. This did not make me happy so I talked with the manager. If you ever have a chance to talk with him, he is AMAZING. The best customer service I have ever seen and he's just a nice guy. It turned out that the PGE bill was a mistake by PGE and he ended up refunding us $100 on our next bill. He also explained that the whole problem is the windows, and that if they were to upgrade the windows in every apartment, they would probably end up upgrading everything else in the apartment, which would up the rent big time. After hearing that, I decided that I can live with spraying that mold spray once a month to fend off the mold. Also, the employee that I had a problem with was VERY nice to me the next time I saw her, so I'm guessing that problem was dealt with.

When I moved in, I read all the reviews online and found some about car thefts and this almost made us decide to not come back here at all. Luckily we decided to ask them about it and they have dealt with it. The cops caught the guy doing it, and now they have patrol cars coming through like 6 times a night or something. I have definitely not heard anything about car thefts since I've been here.
As for noise, they told us that basically half of the complex is pretty packed with people and therefore is a little bit more fun but loud. We chose the other side and are loving it. Noise free at almost all times except in the afternoon when some kids play outside, but that's about it.

I think at this point, my biggest problem with the place is the drainage of water. It's right on the side of this steep hill, so all the water flows into the parking lot and floods it pretty bad at times. Then in the winter, it freezes and is really scary to drive on. I would think they could do something about that and kind of hope they do. Also, although maintenance is very fast, I feel like they try to do band-aid fixes sometimes. They came in to fix my stove and wrote on their note "fixed stove" but the broken burner worked for about a week after and then started having the same problem. I think this could also be a result of the fact that the appliances are pretty old and they may be doing their best to fix them. Once again though, I would rather have 1 burner malfunctioning on occasion than paying another $100 or $200 a month.

Overall, I love these apartments. They're quiet, nice management (they somehow remember everyone's names and apartment numbers which I love when I walk in the office), and CHEAP. I have a 2 bed / 2 bath on the top floor and only pay $795. You show me a better deal than that! I think all you haters have to deal with your problems and stop whining.

Thanks for your review. I'm frustrated reading bad reviews of places, thinking people must by cynics or jaded. So when I read yours I was falling under the cynical way of thinking, but when you said you're not management I'm thinking theres hope.

Now that I've moved out, I will say that I feel like there are better places you can live. I don't know why I put up with mold for such a long time. And the lies from the people that work there as well. Yes I was pretty strapped for cash, but still, I feel like I could have gotten more for my money. It worked fine I guess. Also, after I left, they hounded me for a month claiming that I hadn't paid something, but the person that started hounding me by sending me letters it turned out was on vacation and was having these things automatically sent. No one else could handle the situation, only her. It was quite stressful because there was all this talk about taking me to court when really, they owed me money. They apologized about it later, but I feel like there should be more than one person who can take care of that. In order for this place to become respectable, they need to do just a few things: 1) They need to get a new office staff. Len needs to get some people in there who are respectful like he is (HE ROCKS!) and that don't lie. They need to not tell lies to get people to come in and tell the truth about the mold problem, not down playing it and blaming the tenants whose fault it is not. Speaking of the mold problem: 2) They need to replace all the windows. I know it would cost them a lot of money and Len pretty much said there's no way it's going to happen, but they need to make it happen. I also know that he said there is still a lot of debt, but it doesn't matter. This is the number one complaint from renters MOLD, and if they want to keep respectable renters in there (like we were) for longer periods of time, they need to make them happy. You know the mold problem is due to the windows, so FIX IT! They also need to do this without raising the rent (and yes, you can make it work just fine owner/s). 3) Last and least important in my opinion, get new appliances. I say this is least important because I know you would jack up the price if you did this. I just feel that you could save some money in the long run by not having to have maintenance come out all the time. You could probably have less maintenance on staff if you did this even. So overall, fix the mold problem and get new windows! If you did this, it would also take pressure off of your lying staff and they wouldn't have to lie so much. Then maybe they'd be a little more tolerable.
