Yo!

What a joke!

Years at this apartment: 2002 - 2006

My wife and I moved here three years ago. From the start, we had problems with things breaking, such as water fixtures, drawers and there is a mysterious lump in the carpet that has never been explained.

Now don't get me wrong, the apartment itself is okay, newer, and well laid out. Nice sized bathroom too, though the plumbing is so bad... well, let's just say if you're having quests over make sure you flush at least five times...

I really like the grounds, but this has nothing to do with management. There is a fairly large (for being in a city) woods with hiking trails behind the place. Nice to see deer at night.

However, the staff and management are completely ineffectual, and this is why we're moving out.

To start with, if you need something fixed, make sure you have at least a month to have it done, or just give in yourself and do it. I've been fortunate in that I'm fairly handy, but seriously, a drawer broke once, and we called about seven times, and it still took over a month to get three penny nails in it.

About the repairs and other things that require entry into your home is another issue. We told them we don't like people coming in when we are not here, and would tell them when we'd be here for stuff to be done, and they'd never show up, and we'd just come home after telling them for weeks to fix something and there would be no note, but the problem would be fixed, like the drawer, I just came home one day and noticed that it's contents were on the counter and it wasn't in two pieces any more. Kind of a creepy feeling.

Oh yeah, if you like fleas and other parasytes (not just bugs but the people around you.), you're in luck!

They have a "security guard" service, basically a person who is horribly out of shap riding around all night in a little car with a flashlight, who will neve remember you. I often smoke on my back porch, and still get the old slam on the breaks and flashlight in the face. "Hey there, it's me, the same guy who has been casually breaking into this apartment in his slippers for the past three years!"

I could go on and on about this albeit decent looking joke, but I think I'll end it with the reason we moved.

They do NOTHING about bad neighbors. A year ago, they moved these filthy people in next to us, who from the start acted like this was a house. Piling trash and belongings, as well as a four wheeler (yes, they parked a motor vehicle repeatedly by my door.) to such an extent that it was not just ugly and smelly, but a serious hazard just to get in, to say nothing of the fact that these trailor trash would try to speak with me.

They allowed these people to do this for months as we complained and complained (40 calls or so I'd say.) and did NOTHING.

Also, these people would use drugs (pot but still...) in front when I'd have guests, stay up all night screaming and yelling, and their children would do the same as well as shoot pellet guns at cars/anything as well as things like throwing basket balls against our walls (I have one room where I just gave up and took all the pictures off the walls.)

Also, they would leave the door wide open while they were doing whatever, will all the kids in the neighbor hood ran in and out, with firearms in plain sight and reach. I'm not anti gun believe me, I have a few myself, but they're out of sight and certainly not where potentially uneducated children could grab them. (I'm still telling myself they were all unloaded, too scary otherwise.)

Also, one particular night, there was a huge fight of some kind out there, and when my wife called the security guard about it, she said "I'm not going anywhere near that, it sounds dangerous!" Great security service.

The reason I bring these people up is that, while yes, this was not the fault of the staff here that these people were dangerous trash, it's that over the year they've been here and me and my wife and others here complained and wrote reports and such, the management did NOTHING. NOTHING happened. The people there beat their kids, my wife was always terrified if I was not there (Oh yeah, they made lewd comments to her.) They did NOTHING.

Town Homes With a View may look nice on the surface, but scratch a little, and you'll get a glimpse of something truly ugly that they don't want you to see. Go somewhere else, Clackamas county is a big, nice area, don't waste your time at this place, it has all the disadvantages of an aparment (Which is of course okay.) But with all the disadvantages of owning a home (You're completely and utterly on your own with no help.)

STAY AWAY!
