I have lived in numerous apartments, and consider this one poorly constructed and unprofessionally managed. I suspected I would have difficulties with the manager as he deliberately withheld information about his complex. I moved in, and one month later his office staff is giving me 1 days notice that they had to rip out and replace my balcony (took weeks)! I had a 40 minute phone conversation stressing to him the appropriateness of being truthful, and my concerns for my belongings (I essentially had to 'camp out' in my apartment). He seemd to understand, but it was all 'lip-service'; my belongings were not covered properly against all the dust and debris. Walls are 'paper-thin', I heard my neighbors' snoring, their garbage disposals, and their bathroom fans. If you're 'fortunate' to live near one of his designated 'transit' apartments (I believe they are temporary lodging for newly hired HP folks'), you get to tolerate their rudeness and loud music. I did not have problems with the staff (Marie and Ralph) as some have recounted. A final suggestion if you have no choice but to live here (Corvallis in general abuses its renters via filthy/old apartments, unreasonable fees, and a 'take it or leave it attitude') - ask lots of questions and get EVERYTHING in writing.
