Changed my mind

I moved out of Grand Oaks after writing the last review. I would now NOT recommend living there at all. The carpets were not cleaned before me moved in which means we were left with big ugly stains that I had to try and get out myself. WHen we moved out we worked our butts off cleaning the apartment but they still stuck us with a $20 cleaning charge to "wipe out some drawers" even after I was told our nonrefundable cleaning deposit of $49 would pay for it especially since they didn't bother to get our carpets cleaned prior to move in. On top of that they're trying to charge us almost $300 for "damage to a garage gutter with a u-haul" when the top of our u-haul was a good two feet if not more from the gutter and we have two other people to corroborate that. In my opinion they just now spotted some damage that's been there for a while and we're the easiest people to try and stick with the costs, which in my experience I have never seen a $300 piece of gutter but whatever. They owe us almost $300 from deposits but now they're saying we owe them $8 since they're trying to keep our deposit for "damage and cleaning" on top of the non-refundable pet fee of $250 for a declawed, litter box trained cat. They will only try to rip you off and take advantage of you. That seems to be the MO of every apartment I've ever lived in. Shame on Grand Oaks.
