Racist Apartment Manager

The first day I was looking at apartments I asked if i could have an apartment next to my friends which was close to the play area. You know what she tells me'' "I dont have any there but so I'll give you a discount for the "BLACK PEOPLE" area until one is available". The "black area" happens to be in the set of buildings furthest west in the complex. Because I needed an apartment badly. I took it anyways. Worst mistake ever. I am black, and it disgusted me how non-white people were treated. My neighbor who is white
had the same plumbing problems as I. When he asked for fixing. He had to wait days. Me not being white would get a month late service.
If you want to live in a apt complex run by a lazy racist manager. By all means move here. Just make sure you're the same skin color as her. Her name is Barbra and her assistant is wendi.
I'm not write this as something personal against her. This is a just my personal views when I lived there for 1 year.

I cannot believe that you would write such slanderous things! I happen to have known the manager and her assistant for over two years and she has been nothing but nice and professional. Just because you are pissed off about something DOES NOT give you the right to play the race card. And just so you know, I am "non white" as you would put it. It does a serious injustice to all people, not only "non whites" when you cry racism when it benefits you.

Having managed a large apartment complex, I am very aware (as Im sure any trained manager working for a large complex is) of the Fair Housing Laws. To even think of having a black area is ludicrous, as is the allegation that any manager of such a large property would support it. Fair Housing Laws aside, it is plainly unethical, and I highly doubt Barbra (who Ive met on several occasions) would move persons of different skin colors to separate parts of the property. Keep in mind stories/reviews on Apartment Ratings can been twisted, stretched, and blown out of proportion to suit the writer.

I have not personally had an unpleasant experince with this manager but I did she how she behaved with a young asian man when I was in her office and it was quite different from her behavior with me.She may not be an outright racist but her behavior leaves a lot to be desired.

I worked with Barbara at another apartment community in Corvallis. I have known her for 3 years and this does not at all sound like something she would say. I also used to work at Northpointe 6 years ago, we all know residents who have it out for us because they paid their rent late and we charged them a late fee or something like that. This does not give you the right to make a false report like this. I check in on all of my properties on this site to see how things are going and take suggestions and complaints to better the property and staff.

Wow interesting. You guys are full of it because this guy is not lying at all. How dare you comment and not even live here. There was a football player that lived near me, and yeah he was black. He lived right next to the "pet area" and it was nasty there. Always muddy, and oh yeah, not to mention, everyone's pets peeing and taking a shat right by his door. Hmm, good thing she didn't put that guy in the "black area" you guys don't believe in. I also have noticed that there are no colored people who live near me, with the exception of the rich and somewhat well-known football player. I also do not live anywhere near the back end of the complex. Just to let you all know, recently Barbara has been replaced by some woman named Julia. How surprising. |

Umm the west side of the complex is actually better, it is the farthest from the train tracks and smoking area. PS there are pet bathroom areas practically outside every lower apartment's door. Plus they do not put you anywhere you can choose whatever available apartment you want. However, I dislike the management too for other reasons, they gave the key to my apartment out to strangers.
