Good, with some exceptions

This was my first apartment and I opted for a 2 bedroom even though I was by myself as it cost the same (with the move-in special) as the 1 bedroom across town would have cost me. The apartment itself was pretty simple and adequate. They had me note any damage when I moved in and even fixed one of the things I noticed ( a hole in the top of the hot water heater) within a week. I also was on the 2nd floor towards the very back of the complex, so didn't really notice traffic and noise was heard occasionally, but not often. Never any loud college parties that I heard.
Since it was just me, parking was no problem as I paid for a covered spot ($10/month), but my guests always had to park across the street as there is ZERO visitor parking at Spring Creek. Not a big deal really, but a bit of a hassle.
The reason I left after my lease expired (and the reason why I was SO glad to leave) was I had the world's WORST neighbors. The 3rd day I lived there my downstairs neighbors sent me a note complaining that I was being too noisy. I sent an apologetic letter explaining I was still unpacking and I would do better. They sent back a card saying I really wasn't that noisy and I didn't give it a second thought after that, but I was VERY careful to be quiet. Over the course of the next month they called the management on me 3 times for what they described as me "running laps in my apartment." This included a day that I wasn't even home! The manager had me come in and I explained I was not making ANY noise and hadn't even had any friends over b/c I was so afraid of making noise!! She was nice enough about it, but by this point I was furious. They complained yet again a month later and I went down and confronted them, asking what time and what they were hearing as I never knew what I was doing that was bugging them because they never went through me, just the management. Evidently she could hear me walking around making dinner in the evenings. I informed her (biting my tongue) that I was allowed to cook dinner and I was sorry, but I wasn't going to stop cooking dinner because they could hear me walking around. After that no complaints, so I don't know if the management just started ignoring them when they complained or what' These neighbors would also use my reserved parking spot when I was away on vacation (a friend noticed this) which I found ironic.
In terms of the apartment and management, I had no real problems, although I wished the manager would have stepped up and told the downstairs neighbors to stop harassing me, but I suppose that wasn't her job. The landscapers did start at 7:30am EVERY day of the week which was annoying as I couldn't even sleep in on my days off.
Moving out was a bit of a hellish ordeal. They jacked rates up another $50/month and only offered a deal if I signed a 15 month or longer lease and i only had a year left of school. So I made plans to move out and quickly found a better deal and a nicer apartment (Witham Hill Oaks). When they inspected my apartment I learned that I would be charged for the lightbulb that had burnt out, and I was told I had to go back and clean UNDER the plastic runners in the windows or they would charge me $25/window. Absolutely ridiculous. By now I was so frustrated with them that I cleaned them just to get my money and left. I had my deposit within 3 weeks and they were even nice about me going back and getting some mail that hadn't been forwarded. So moving out they're rather nazi-ish, but otherwise acceptable...
However, expect to sign 11, yes, 11 pages of documents regarding airing out your apartment weekly and how to use the bathroom fan. It's obnoxious.
