I'm the author of "Do yourself a favor..." and have since moved out. I thought it was bad then, but I was even more upset when I got my deposit returned. They deducted for all kinds of normal wear and tear, and things that I had pre-paid for when I moved in! They charged me for a "miniblind cleaning fee" when I moved in, and then charged me for having dirty blinds when I moved out! They conveniently included a notation that anything we didn't agree with could be submitted in writing to the fair housing authority, and that they would not except any phone calls regarding the bill. We made several attempts to contact the owners of the property since we had trouble with the management from the get-go, but they always say they'll have them call you, but nothing ever happens. I am so disgusted with this place! Horrible!!!!! This place deserves to be shut down and the office staff fired. Thats all I can say if I want this to stay posted. Please do not support this horrible business by renting from them.

First off you would not be charged a mini blind cleaning unless we had to send the blinds out after you moved in to be cleaned per your request. We don't just send blinds out to be cleaned, especially when the unit is occupied. You are charged for cleaning of the blinds and carpet when you move out, since you more than likely didn't pay a cleaning fee when you moved in.Also if we had to answer all calls from past tenants regarding refunds I wouldn't have any time to get my work done in the office.Like most tenants they think they should get all the deposit back. And if you were so unhappy about the refund why wouldn't you write a letter. We respond back to every letter.

Oh pleeeeeeze! Applewood TRIED to charge me for everything when I moved out. They even tried to charge me for new drapes simply because the hem was falling out. They also tried to charge for new carpet because I had a pet, which I paid a deposit for and never got back, but I found out from the next tenant that there was no new carpet installed. They are scammers, and will keep every dime of any deposit you put down!!! They even charged another tenant for cleaning the apartment even after she produced documentation she paid a professional cleaning company to clean the place.

I swear the More I read the more pissed offf I get They charged us for Carpet they did not replace as well, as for the management and the cleanin She has a tennant come in and Clean who lives right by the office!!!!!! The did the same thing to us with the fair Housing act and all the crap THER TERRIBLE people who will eventually get whats coming to them and Karmas a ----- and I wish i could see it when it happens to them I wish I had the time and Money to sue the crap out of them!!!! As to the Letter we wrote a Letter and got no response back and we called so Your so Full of lies you have an explanation for rverything but yet The bad reviews go on and on which if you read most of the complaints are the same so they HAVE done NOTHING to rectify whats wrong.

Mybe you should take care of yur apartment and not trash it. The manager does what she is told. It's not Applewoods responsibility to make sure your apartment is clean and ready to rent it's your. The sooner you get that through your head the better off you will be. Maybe they have more bad reviews because you have nothing better to do. I just found out about this web site. If I would of known about it before I would of still rented. I love my apartment as I said and the staff is great.So quit your wining and bitching.
