If you are young don't move here! They took advantage of us from the second we moved in. After we signed our year lease they added a bunch of move in fees and charges that were never part of the deal. When we confronted them about it nobody could answer why we were having to pay these charges that honestly seemed made up. They sent us back and forth between managers each saying they didn't know and to talk to the other. Finally we paid because we were young and didn't know any other option. Upon moving out we went down the list they gave us and cleaned every inch of that place, replacing every light bulb down to puttying every tiny tack whole. We tried to schedule a walk through with the manager but she was far to busy. That's another thing managment is never around! One time i got locked out of my apartment for 3 hours. I must have called the emergency number a million times and no one ever got back to me. The charged us $1600 when we moved out. There were a couple places by the door where the cats unraveled the carpet a little bit but other than that the place was in move in condition. I went and talked to a manager and told her how hard we worked to clean it and she said and i quote "oh i know, the place looked very clean". Later on she denied that she ever said that and told my cosigner that she never even seen the place and that the cleaners said that our walls were black. That's why they were charging us $400 to paint the walls. They weren't exagerating. It was a flat out lie! We went so far as to wipe down every wall in that apartment. I know they were spotless. And we ended up paying every penny because we didn't know what else to do. These people are liers and scam artists. Don't trust them.

I'm so sorry to hear your experience was unpleasant to say the least at Applewood. Fortunately the community is under new (and experienced) management since your experience in dealing with them.
