Crazy Management!

In the past month there have been three different managers. And one lady - the owner's daughter - was trained for two-weeks and then flaked-out! Another lady worked for a few weeks... then went to lunch and never came back. The owner is a nice guy in his own way, but not good with the residents at all. He's a business guy. He laughed at one of our neighbors when he went to him with a genuine concern. Just didn't take him seriously at all and blew him off. So not cool.
I have heard rumors that the owner is considering selling. Several residents have heard him boasting about how he's had several offers from developers. A lot of the residents here are worried that he'll sell and we'll all be looking for a new place to call home soon. Things feel very uncertain right now. There is a weird feeling all around.
We love our apartment, though. The size is great. The location is great. It would be nice to get newer appliances as the washer and dryers and the fridge and everything are all originals from when the apartments were first built (95, I think). It would be so nice to get some newer energy efficient models in.
We really only have two complaints about living here: 1. the noise. There's highway noise, Home Depot noise, and then neighbor noise. I don't know anything about construction... but you can hear absolutely everything your neighbor does. 2. Smells. This might be unavoidable... but we have a neighbor who smokes which stinks up our place. We also have a neighbor with an old car and whenever he starts it up the fumes from his car stink up our place. We also smell neighbors dryer exhaust because the exhaust outlets are right by the back windows and doors. Some people use really chemically laundry products and those smells come into our apartment if we have the windows open.
The maintenance guy Don is awesome! And the owner guy is nice, but just not skilled in dealing with residents issues. We really need to find a good manager who will stick around. Shanna was awesome, and we miss Dianna!!! Dianna was absolutely wonderful and really turned this place around for the short time she was here. We need another good manager... until then... honestly I'm not sure if I would recommend anyone trying to rent here. Things are just too much in limbo right now and there's that strange feeling.
UPDATE: I'm editing my review to say that there's a new manager now, Carla, and she's really great so far! She's been with us for a little over a month now. She seems like she really means business. She's very efficient and very smart and lots of fun.
I'd also like to add... about the dog thing... there's NO WAY that all the dog's here are service dogs. I know a few are, but two of our neighbors in two different apartments have dogs and they are not disabled people. The dogs poop in the grass and it's so gross... and they bark all the time which drives us nuts. One of our neighbors with a dog, too, isn't very clean. I have a feeling that the dog must poop or pee all over their carpet or something, because every time they open their doors or windows a horrible pet odor smell rushes out of their apartment and into ours if we have our windows open. It's really awful. We will not be renewing our lease here simply because of having to deal with these loud and stinky neighbors because of their dogs. It's embarrassing when we have guests over because of the horrible smell and noise. The dogs bark and then we hear the people yelling at their dogs to shut up. It's not pleasant.

Yes, Applewood Apartments allows working service dogs, as it is required by law. If there are other dogs on the property we are not aware of it. The managers husband has a working service dog. It is an alert dog in case of seizures, the dog is trained to get attention for him.
The managers office is open from 8:30 am to 5:30 pm, Tuesday through Saturday and the manager is aways happy to help residents with any complaints and problems they may be having on the property or with the management staff.
