I've lived in different apartments and houses around the UO area for the past few years, and flintridge has by FAR been the best experience. VonKlein is accessible/available, prompt, and polite/friendly. The complex is well lit, there is always bike and car parking, I've never had to wait to do laundry, and the tenants respect the grounds and each other. We do live on 18th which can get noisy, but campus area tends to be anyway. In regards to ants and fungus, I have only seen their presence in dirty apartments. I'm sure that if I didn't make sure to turn on the fan, clean my bathroom, and heat the place that we would have fungus. If we didn't vacuum, sweep, mop and clean up after ourselves in the kitchen that we would have ants as well. This applies to any living space and is indicative of the tenants, not the place or the managers. When I moved in here, I found some of the door jams to have paint dinged off when the previous tenants moved out, so VonKlein came in and repainted the entire apartment within 4 days. People are routinely hired to come and clean and provide any repairs to the complex. We are in amazing proximity to Safeway and surrounding businesses and Aamazon Park, close to Sundance, a quick walk or ride to campus and downtown. And the rent is SO cheap. The only thing I would change is the sound buffering in the unit, and our kitchen still has older appliances while many of the units have been updated.
