STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE.
I was more than disgusted with the way Forest Hills handled themselves.
The layout of our 1 bedroom apartment was nice, but our neighbors were loud, and stomped around the place like a herd of elephants, and another of our neighbors let their stupid dog bark nonstop.
In the beginning when we started renting, it was a "high end" apartment complex, and the only reason we even agreed to pay the almost $1000 A MONTH in rent was because they were one of the only places in town that accepted large breed dogs.
But by the end of our 13 month stay in this awful place, they had lowered some of the rents and dropped "move in fees" that WE had to pay, and I felt like "high end" feel went SEVERLY downhill.
On top of everything else, during the 4th of July weekend, a tenant of one apartment pulled a gun on another tenant.
I DID NOT FEEL SAFE SEEING THE 8 COP CARS (and I counted) outside our apartment and hearing what happened (we researched what happened with the police call log, as well as I called the office after it happened).
There are lots of children that live there, and I could not imagine if something horrible happened to one of them.
THE MANAGEMENT STAFF/ORGANIZATION WERE A NIGHTMARE.
After we moved out we were owed $400.00 back in our deposits, but imagine my shock when we FINALLY got our deposit back, and the check was made out FOR ONLY HALF OF WHAT WE WERE OWED.
It took ME having to call them, and point out their mistake, and then it took ANOTHER MONTH AND 1/2 FOR THEM TO DO SOMETHING SO DIFFICULT as to print out another check with the rest of the amount, and mail it to us at THE CORRECT ADDRESS.
They were DEFINITELY NOT in their "31 days" of renter's rights of getting OUR deposit back to us.
It was unprofessional, as well as pathetic they couldn't get it together to send me a new check, as well as I had to KEEP calling them to make it happen.
We paid WAY TOO MUCH MONEY for them to mess up this badly over and over.
I will admit the maintenance/grounds staff were super friendly and great to work with.
They worked hard to keep the place looking very nice, and I think they should all get raises, unlike all the management/office staff that should be fired.
So potential renters, beware, the place looks like a lovely place to live, but looks ARE DECEIVING AT FOREST HILLS.
I AM TELLING ALL MY FRIENDS/FRIENDS OF FRIENDS/ANYONE to stay away from Forest Hills Apartments.
