Many good things about these older apartments
From: -Anonymous-Date posted: 4/4/2006
Years at this apartment: 2004 - 2005
We just bought a house after living in the Four Seasons townhouses for a year. These are a great deal-- our 2 bed 1.5 bath, 2 story townhouse was $550 a month, about the price of a studio apartment in other buildings.
Things we liked: You can walk or bike anywhere from these and yet they are in sort of a quiet backwater without a lot of traffic-- rare for something so centrally located. The landscaping is gorgeous and our own private patio was a major plus. Amazon creek runs right along the back. The neighbors are great (barring the occasional REALLY LOUD college student, which the management was good about talking to). Also, these apartments were built, at a guess, in the '60's and have been very well maintained. They were thoughtfully designed to begin with and have a lot of storage space and good separation of space for how small they are.
I also felt like this was a very safe place for cats and kids.
Things we didn't like: Pesticide spraying all over outside, sometimes without notification. Lax parking enforcement among neighbors (we got squeezed out a couple of times). A small water heater- fine unless there are three of you wanting to take a shower at the same time.
