Look Elsewhere for Long Term Living

We lived here for just under 5 years. We had to move recently due to economy changes and needing a cheaper place to live. We believed it was a nice place and a safe clean area to raise our daughter. On the surface, the management is supportive, but all that glitters isn't gold.
1. We received three rent increases in five years, including two $40 increases. There is absolutely no desire on the part of this complex to encourage long-term, quiet, good, clean tenants who pay on time and require very little maintenance, despite the fact that we saw at least three moving trucks on our side of the complex every month we lived there.
2. I cleaned the place very well before leaving and still lost nearly my entire security deposit due to "14 hours" of needed cleaning. I have no idea how slow they went or how detailed they got, but there is no way there was 14 hours of cleaning needed on that apartment when I left it. So say good-bye to your deposit unless you clean the entire place with a toothbrush.
Be warned. I wish we had been. It's a very nice, safe area to live, but look elsewhere unless you want annual rent increases as an existing tenant and have no desire to see your deposit ever again. It might as well have been a $250 fee. I'm sorry I bothered to clean anything.

I'm sorry, but if you lived there for 5 years there had to have been some SERIOUS cleaning that needed to be done. Apartments aren't usually meant to be long-term by the way, hence the year to year leases. And, in case you didn't notice California is bleeding into Oregon and Californians are willing to pay higher rent. The rental market has sky-rocketed over the last five years...check out zillow.com if you don't believe me. I'm sure Heron Club, like all other corporate owned businesses don't care about you as a long-term renter. They only care about getting top dollar for their square footage. Get real.

The review to the renter is so obviously from a disgruntled owner or someone compensated by the owner in some way. The renter's posting is probably right on the money since the obviously biased response is done to invalidate the renter's posting. When are owners going to get their head out of their service entrance and understand how obvious it is when owners/management rate their own properties, or respond to tenant's reviews? YOU get real, Mr. Potter.

I have lived in the heron club on and off over the past 13 years, it is my 4th time back here and I have to say every one has different cleaning standards. I really don't think that what you say about the heron club is true, yes she likes it clean and thats how it was when you moved in and thats how it will be for the next person or family that moves in. I have always got my deposit back. They keep it like new and take care of anything that needs to be taken care of, the grounds look like a park setting and a lot of love and care goes into the heron club and every one is treated like family. When I first moved in the heron club in 1996 I told them I would only be staying for a couple of months because there was no way I was staying in an apartment complex and I ended up staying for 8 years the first time. I love it here and will remain here it is a family oriented place to live and well taken care of.
