I have read each and every review on this page for Heron Meadows, and most of them are untrue. In fact some of them are outright lies, and if spoken aloud would be akin to slander in a court of law.
This place is a good apartment complex to live in. End of story.
I'm not going to sugar coat, just tell the truth. I lived there, and I enjoyed it. The apartment was spacious, nice vaulted ceilings, new construction, clean as a whistle and with an adequate view (of a parking lot, but you work with what you've got). I was a bit perturbed by the pre-installed fire suppression sprinkler system (you know, like the ones in office buildings), because if it ever malfunctioned, say goodbye to the electronics and furniture in any of the rooms. But, since there never was a fire, and it never malfunctioned, it was a non issue.
I liked the area, a bit miffed that I had to live in between two white trash trailer parks that house all the people making the negative comments on this site, but the apartments were built to try and give this end of town a bit of class. It's not their fault the surrounding community is fighting them tooth and nail. Aside from that, it is within walking distance of an Albertsons and a Bi-Mart, as well as a Blockbuster, 2 gas stations, a bank, and 2 pizza places. Pretty well stocked over there.
The apartments themselves are nice to look at, not like the eyesores being built around the corner while I was there. Neutral tones, with green grass and a bit of brick red all over the buildings trim. They all have outside balconies or nooks to put some chairs, and Pella Style doors, with commonplace metal Venetians. There is now, apparently much to other Negative Nancy's chagrin, a pool now where the basketball court used to be. I remember hearing about it and asking the office staff and they said that they knew as much as we did, and it was in the process, then they finally were able to start breaking ground for it and everyone who was living there was relieved and those who were moving out and, unbeknownst to an uncaring world, part fish were bitter and angry.
Moving on to the people: Office staff was awesome. Tenants were terrible. I loved the girls in the office, they were always very nice, and very attentive. Sonya was the manager, and Traci was the main rental agent. There was another girl in there, but I can't remember her name, but I do remember that if there was a weak link in the chain, it was probably her. She always rubbed me wrong, but I was fortunate enough to work mainly with Traci, and that was fine because she was AWESOME. A raise for whoever hired that girl: she knew her stuff, was always helpful, and ridiculous nice. Sonya (I know that it doesn't really belong in an apartment review) was nice too...and wicked hot. I'm a guy, what can I say' She runs a tight ship that one, kudos to the office staff.
The maintenance staff I didn't get to know too terribly well, mainly because I had no issues that required them. I did get to know Jack and Janette. They were very nice and acted as a team (from what I observed). There was no lounging about, no smoking parties behind the club house. They were always on the move.
Okay this is getting long so I'll wrap up:
- Yes, parking does suck, but they do the best they can with small streets.
- Yes, Sound transfers. It's an apartment. Get USED TO IT or buy a house.
- Has free WI-FI in clubhouse only, not apartments (I had to refute an earlier lie by another reviewer)
Oh and one last thing: Follow the directions when they tell you to clean up before the move out. Ask questions of the staff or maintenance if you are unsure, but do it right and if you broke the rules get ready to pay the fee. These people aren't out to get you, they're not slumlords. Just hold up your end of the contract and everything should be fine.
So that's it for my review. Hope you feel informed.
And for those of you who are "Anonymous" cowards, claiming me to be an employee, please note that my IP is logged with the site and I ain't one of the girls in the office. So why don't you come up with something original' Or can you not stand the power of my positive review raining on your little "poor me pity party"' Grow a pair and leave some CONSTRUCTIVE criticism, ya pansies.
If you can afford it in this economy, it's a great place to live.

reluctantrenter2009, glad you're in Portland with all of the other self-important, pseudo intellectual fakes. Good riddance! But thanks for the Google tip, perhaps you can look up singular vs plural usage. Moron.
BTW, "Khyle" calls people out for posting anonymously, the same thing he is doing. That makes him a hypocrite, get it? My name is Tony Jenniza, and I was born in 1969, hope that clear is up for you "reluctantrenter."

Nice review! I agree with your thoughts.
tonyjenniza69: Anyone who uses "69" in a username doesn't deserve a say. Did you mean "imply" instead of "infer"? And there's a difference between libel and slander. Your final accusation of hypocrisy is unfounded. You INFERRED from khyle1968's post that these apartments were a "panacea," but I don't think that's quite what he was IMPLYING. "Ghetoo"? You can use Google to look up all of these thing in order to assist you with future writing endeavors. And really? "Man up and post your full name"? What an incredibly macho act to post one's full name on a frickin' apartment review site. What the hell does it matter? God, I'm glad I moved to Portland.
