DON'T MOVE IN!!!

When I first moved into McKenna I was upset at the poor shape of my apartment. The carpets were in terrible condition (they had not been cleaned prior to move in)and many of the lights were burned out. I noted the carpet condition on my move in papers in great detail (they had also been damaged with burns and poorly patched holes) but they failed to replace them, however at the time of my move out THEY CHARGED ME for them!! I cleaned that apartment so that it looked better than it had when I moved in and they still tried to take my entire deposit! Another problem for me was the number of noise complaints I recieved for simply existing in my apartment. I can honestly recall having guests a maximum of 3 occasions during my 6 month lease and turned my stereo on once and I recieved many complaints about noise. I was literally at work all day and then came home and went to bed. My downstairs neighbors would pound on the ceiling with a broom whenever I did dishes or turned on the tv. I had to keep the volume extremely low at all times. It may have just been my picky neighbors but I have noticed other posted reviews about too many noise complaints. Parking is a nightmare and they do fail to tow any illegally parked cars! Sometimes at night when I would arrive home late I would have to park extremely far from my apartment..sometimes even in the street when I live there! If you are a student renting be prepared to have complaints called on you and to be screwed out of your deposit. There are cheaper places that are just as nice if not nicer you just have to keep looking!

McKenna is NOW under new ownership... with a new and professional management company. There's a new sheriff in town. CPM |

Now under new management this type of stuff doesn't happen. Every complaint is look into for legitimcy. I think they just had a real bad neighbor who was extreamly picky. Sounds are very limited at mckenna. They even have a manager onsite who personally asnwers all the pages. Which is nice. when you move out they walk through the unit before you turn your keys in. Just in case there is something you forgot. I got back all but $40. I spilled something on the carpet. Parking is not an issue. You park in a fire lane or handicap parking they tow. Even game day, you can get a spot. Students are welcomed here. I would stay, but work calls.

I realize things have changed at McKenna. I was afraid to move because I was told that previous management likes to take all of your deposit and really not do anything. I got all my deposit back. I don't think that would of happend with the prevoius management. Abe didn't seem to know what he was doing.
