We landed here because we are new to Eugene, but I won't be staying when my lease is up. Where to start' They charge you for things that are not in your lease, 50.00 bucks for the "staff" to install your own window AC unit. My lease says nothing about paying for this. The fix-it guy is full of lecture, and loves to tell you what you need to do with your life, pets, everytime I have had something fixed, it has come with a lecture. The front office people are formally cold, while they smile at you. The field beyond the redwoods has a large vagrant population living in it, you see bums come through the row of trees all the time. Many spend time here digging through garbage and recycle bins, and I see the fix-it poeple talking to them like they should be here. I am routinely hit up for cigerettes while walking to get my mail. Very cheaply made apartments, you hear EVERYTHING that goes on in your neighbors homes, with very little privacy. The uprights on the metal railing on the upstairs walk-ways are wide enough for a walking infant/toddler to walk between (8 inches apart) to a 12 foot straight drop to concrete. The ceilings are absestos (spelled wrong) and you sign a waiver to that fact when you move in. Parking is random at best, with no parking spots in front of your building later in the day.My apartment is never dark, the outside lights make my apartment bright enough to read by at night.
