Well I have decided that since the previous person thinks there are so many reasons not to rent at Avalon, I would tell you why I love it!!!
1. The staff is absolutely wonderful! I have had a few concerns about noisy neighbors since I moved in and the staff has always taken care of it. They can't always tell me what they are doing to handle it but it always gets fixed.
2. I love all of the parties they have for us. The 3rd Sunday of every month the entire staff gets together on their day off to cook breakfast in the clubhouse for everyone that wants to join them. I have to say it was kind of strange the first time, eating someone's cooking that I don't really know. But those girls can cook!!!
3. The community is very well kept and always looks beautiful. When I first moved in, I thought they were a little strict with their policies. But I have come to find that the reason they do it is to keep everything looking very nice.
4. The apartments are a little bit more expensive than other apartments in the area. However I feel that it is worth every dollar. I am in a huge 2 bedroom and for the price I pay I can't find anything comparable.
5. Yes the mailboxes were broken into around the first part of the year and it took the office a little bit to get them fixed. But, the girls in the office cared enough about everyone that they took care of the mail until they were able to get them fixed. In my opinion, they didn't have to do that for us and that is going above and beyond.
6. I love that the community is gated and yes there are problems with it every now and then. But they are always doing everything they can to keep it up and running. It would probably help a lot if someone hadn't driven into the gate!! :)
7. As for the crime at Avalon..... I have found that no matter how much you pay for rent and what area you are in... Crime has no address! If it is going to happen it is going to happen no matter where you are. Apartment communities are more likely to have issues though because there are more cars to chose from. I just don't leave ANYTHING of value in my car and I have never had a problem.
8. Great maintenance staff!! I have had a few problems come up in my apartment since I have moved in... typical things. And the maintenance staff has always taken care of it right away.
9. The manager is awesome and is very active in her property. I don't think I have ever found a manager quite like her before. She comes in on her days off to cook for us, paints red curbs, leases apartments (I rented from her) you name it and she is there. In addition, anytime I have ever called for her... she has ALWAYS called me back and helped me through my concern or issue.
All and all I have to say I love it at Avalon and I feel it is all well worth the rent I pay. I will definitely be renewing my lease when it comes up! I'm sure I will have plenty of options to do so, they send out letters 3 months before my lease is up!

Good Lord, this is the most obvious attempt I have ever seen of a manager writing a review for her own property. To anybody reading this, ignore the review. The manager is just trying to raise the approval rating by posting a positive review herself. She knows the apartments are more expensive than others in the area because she does market surveys as part of her job. I shopped this community (pretended I was looking for an apartment, but I was really just wanting to see how they lease), and I was told WORD FOR WORD "Crime has no address", just like the manager writes in this review. The statement is true; however, if crime DID have an address, it would probably be at Avalon. A friend of mine used to live there (the whole reason I wanted to check it out myself), and the drug busts alone made her want to move out. Only managers call apartment complexes "properties" or "communities", and only the manager would actually remember that the brunch is on the third Sunday of every month. Don't buy this poorly disguised attempt at self-promotion. |

I agree with the response above. I am a leasing agent for a property in gresham and its true only people that have worked at an apartment complex say things like community, property, prospects, concession etc. I Shopped them recently myself pretending to be a prospect and I felt the community didn't really have any good leasing stratagies or anything that made me say wow! Its pretty pathetic when a apartment community has to write a review for themselves....This site was not created for this reason....You can only mask a bad community for so long.
