STAY AWAY IF YOU WANT TO SAVE MONEY

I was duped into thinking that this place was a total paradise. With the nice grounds, pool, theater, gym, etc one is going to think that this is the "premiere" place to live. WRONG. The apartment was okay for the price, I will not lie. But the price you pay isnt worth it in the end.
Why' Well first off if you want any peace and quiet you sure as hell will not get it there. The walls are PAPER THIN and you can hear EVERYTHING. I was constantly calling management to have them go and quiet down the neighbors surounding me. It wasnt really the neighbors fault but the poorly constructed apartment building. Next the staff, although friendly they dont know ANYTHING. If you have a problem and need to get ahold of them, GOOD LUCK. With that being said, when I would have a noise complaint or other issue, 85 percent of the time calling them would do NO GOOD and I would have to walk to the office!
Now here is my BIGGEST GRIPE OF ALL. After moving out about 2 months ago, I got this rediculous cleaning bill in the mail totalling 600 ! Everything from dust on the cieling fan (20.00!), unclean stove (15.00), and unclean vertical blinds (50.00!)! Everything in the apartment was nit picked, and gone through with a fine tooth comb. I did not leave the place in a disasterous state like they made it seem to be.
Unacceptable. Stay away. I was warned about this place. First by reading negative reviews here and then when I was in OR scouting for apartments, I spoke with 2 current residences and 2 previous and all 4 said it was not worth the problems that Columbia Trails has caused them.
And PARKING, OMG! Parking... HORRIBLE. I had to park 3 buildings away from my unit for the entire year I was there. I got a letter from them 6 months in saying they would be improving parking for everyone, only for them to move me over another building! After complaining to them they told me that the parking blueprints were set and there was nothing they could do! On top of that, I would park in a red zone close to my unit to unload groceries before moving to my spot. Countless times they would come by and stick a pain in the ass sticker on my car window threatening to tow my car. Only while UNLOADING GROCERIES becuse of their BS parking situation!
Look elsewhere.

Wow, thanks for making my decision so much easier. I will look elsewhere. Sounds like a nightmare.

i lived here as well and we had the exact same problems when we left....when we moved out we cleaned for almost 12 hours-after reading this so we wouldn't have the same problem--but guess what we got the same bill in the mail and when we called the manager at the time, jessica she started screaming at me over the phone....if you ant to avoid this nightmare DO NOT LIVE HERE!!!

I had the exact same experience when I moved out, except I only cleaned for about ten hours. But the bill I got in the mail was for $400! I got charged $10 for each counter, $10 for the ceiling fan, $25 for the blinds in one of the bedrooms, $45 for supposedly not sweeping the floors, and even more. I went to the office and offered to pay a reasonable amount for cleaning (since a cleaner would only charge them $150 at the most for a completely filthy apartment), and they wouldn't even take off $10 for the storage unit not being swept out. Horrible management company, I'll never rent at any of their apartments ever again.
