Good thing we only needed an apartment for 6 months!

We had to move into an apartment for a few months while waiting for our house to be built. It had been years since we lived in an apartment so I don't have a lot to compare it to. We had problems from the get-go with the apartment we were supposed to have. When we went to move in it smelled so strongly of smoke that we refused to move in. So the only other apartment available was in a much worse location and was smaller, but we took it because it was all that they had. But I made them reclean it before moving in. Parking was a nightmare because, at first, they couldn't even get us a paid spot anywhere near our apartment. But luckily, the two gals working in the front office were super nice and helpful to us and were always on the lookout for a closer spot for us. We didnt' have any major problems while we were there. It was a bit noisy but it wasn't bad. We also had a problem with water leakage...as we went to move out, water had seeped through my daughter's window where we couldn't see it and it ruined a lamp. There was nothing we could do about it, but be careful with those 1st floor apartments with water, mold, etc.
