Not so good, not horrible. (original post 5/2008)

The staff is unfriendly. They do not say goodbye when a phone call is ended. They do not notify you if they sign for a package. I quote one of the office employees: "It is not our responsibility."
---9/2008 They have become more friendly lately. It is pleasant to call them. And they recently let me know I had a package. That was nice.
The apartment we moved into was still dirty. The heating vents were filthy dusty and the blinds were coated with a film that came off to the touch. The kitchen sink leaked and I had to crawl under and find the problem after maintenance left and told me nothing was wrong. The second time he came back he brought someone with him and it took two of them to fix it.
We had a horrible mold problem in the master bath. It was so bad, after a shower, we could not breath without gagging. After one complaint, they slapped a coat of paint over the mold and called it good. After a second complaint and threat to get the city involved, they took action. (They did pay for our hotel stay for the week and pro-rate our rent.) During the repair the maintenance guy had locked my cat in the apartment over night with the "fog machine" used to kill the mold. As far as the repair to the walls after the mold issue, it is sloppy and uneven. It's like they slapped some spackle on the walls, moved it around and called it good. It still smells sometimes so we keep the exhaust fan on most of the time and removed the light bulb for more suction.
The grounds are awful. There are broken garage doors left in disrepair and a street lamp that fell over is still laying across the wheel chair access on the sidewalk. There is some caution tape flapping around the lamp. Kudos on the safety! That corner of the parking area is very dark and there was a break in recently.
---7/2008 The street lamp has been repaired. The lamp was down about a year before they fixed it.
The garbage is often overflowing.
---8/2008 The garbages often pile up on the weekend, but it seems that Monday mornings they take care of dumping them first thing. They have also fixed up some of the trash areas. It's looking better.
You have to pay for your covered parking area. I find that with a pro and a con. You can rent more than one, but, you don't get even one for free.
It's not horrible, but, I can honestly say this is the least favorite apartment complex I have ever lived in.

Alpha already came out once to my place and everything was ok for awhile but now the ants are back!! Well just because we live in Gresham doesn't make the mold problem ok and they treat the issue as if it's not a big deal....Mold is a very big deal!!

Move out then. No-one is making you stay here. If your health is that much of a concern to you, leave no matter the circumstances. You must be a really sad person to be so negative all the time and continue to live somewhere that is a health hazard. Move out of Heatherwood, and move out of Gresham...or buck up and quit bitching.

Whoever posted this sounds like a real bummer. With the swamp land across the street & some of the apartments below street level on the Cochran side...you should realize those apartments may have water or mold issues. If you don't have money to move somewhere else, move to a new unit where you are at. It probably only costs $200.00 or less. Just find an apartment on higher ground. Places near brooks or streams are also on low ground - like Heatherwood. It's all just common sense really. Quit complaining and do something to fix it. You can fix it yourself, you don't need others to fix it for you.

Yes I have a very noisy downstairs neighbor, I've complained about them numerous times, but they still make the noise. It seems to me that the managers are really not that great with customer service. My downstairs neighbor leaves there vent on all night, or blast there radio with the base up, Find it really had to sleep at nights, Have sort to sleeping pills.

I have had ENOUGH of the personal attacks on my review of Heatherwood. This page is set for open opinion! Not everyone has a spare $125 to move. Don't you agree that people would get more out of your personal experience without judging mine? I'm actually a very positive person, so until you know me, your opinions of me don't really matter. --As for the noisy neighbors, you could talk to your other neighbors and find out if they agree with you. If more than one of you file complaint, action may be taken more seriously.
