Horrible Mildew Problem

Years at this apartment: 2004 - 2005
I lived there for about a year. Before I moved into my apartment I had noticed mildew all along the window seal and I had asked it be removed before I moved in. Well, a month later I move in and I'm taking a look around with my check list of things still wrong and the mildew is still there only it looks like maintenance attempted to paint over it. I notified management once again. Still no reply. After a while I started getting sick. Called management once again. Still no reply, so I decided to take it on in my own hands. I bought some mildew remover and sprayed everywhere. The paint did come off but what surprised me was the amount of mold underneath it. I eventually got rid all visible mold there was and bought a dehumidifier to hopefully absorb all the moisture to prevent the mold from returning. A couple of months after living there I bought a brand new mattress, the kind with a layer of that super expensive memory foam. Well a couple of months prior to moving out when I happened to be rearranging my room, I had noticed some mold on the side of my mattress which I have had less than one year. I immediately called maintenance on the problem, finally a response a month before I'm about to move out. They wanted me to clear out my entire room so that they could redo the entire wall adjacent to the outside wall. I would have been fine with that but I had no place to put my 2 dressers, my very large full size bed along with my computer desk during these so called repairs so nothing was done. Well, prior to realizing the mold on my mattress, just before spring, I had dug out of my closet all my spring and summer shoes. They were completely ruined by mold. Hundreds of dollars lost. I notified management about it, no resonse. I ended up replacing them but every few months I was still finding myself getting rid of about 10-15 pairs of shoes at time due to extensive mildew damage. Everytime, I notified management about the problem and still got no response. I also ended up throwing about luggage bags aswell which are not cheap. While I was moving out and emptying out my closet I noticed my graduation robe and choir gown from highschool completely ruined by mold. Those types of things are irreplaceable, and at that point I was very angry at management's lack of care on the situation. I took pictures of the large amount of mold on the middle of the wall in my closet along with along the baseboards of the floor and window seal to show management. I still have yet to get a response back from them dealing with some type of payment for all the damages to my belongings which they failed to acknowledge as a problem from day one. My mattress was completely ruined. I lost thousands of dollars in shoes because I was constantly replacing them. And I lost hundreds of dollars in luggage. These apartments are terrible places to live in and I reccommend you don't choose this as a place to live. They say they care about their tenants but they don't. Look at my situation.
