Pros: A roof over your head for not a ton of money.

Cons: You get what you pay for.

When I bought into the idea of living at Holly Ridge I thought it was too good to be true, inexpensive with a pool, hot tub and gym. Well, it was too good to be true.

Keeping in mind that it is an apartment complex and not a single family home, this place still leaves alot to be desired.

Some minor things...the appliances are incredibly old (can't even cook a good meal as oven is way out of whack), the hot tub turns you and your personal belongings green, pool eerily feels like it's been pee'd in.

Some major things...Dog poop everywhere!!! I was so happy to sign up because I could have my dog here, neither my dog nor I can stand the dog ---- anymore!!! Yes, my dog hates stepping in other dogs poop as much as I do. It's everywhere!!! The do have a poop bag stand set up but there are no bags in it and there is no designated poop area (and no penalties for not picking up). I'm almost inclined to not pick my dogs poop up either, out of spite, but that is way too nasty and I don't think there's anymore room to leave my dogs waste.

Another major thing is the cigarette butts! Like dog ---- #44; they are everywhere!!!! If the staff will not put little smoker stations on each floor then they should come out and clean up the butts (and the dog poop). It really is incredibly filthy.

Finally, the staff. The maintanence guys are nice enough but the women in the office are something out of a SNL comedy skit.

It appears they are not very bright, or perhaps they are just indifferent, which may explain the rather poor customer service. The have great disdain for the tenants and it shows. And, no matter what, their only answer is "well, the fair housing act...". That's the most comical. "How's your day going'"- "well, the fair housing act...", "excuse me but my dishwasher is leaking"- "well, the fair housing act...", "Violet, you're turning purple!"- "well, the fair housing act...". You get the picture.

All in all, if this is the only place that you can afford then you may need to stick it out, I suppose it could be worse. If you do have even a little bit more to spend, then spend it somewhere else. Life's too short to hate coming home.

I couldn't of said it better!!!

I am a smoker and a dog owner - but - I don't just open up the apartment door and throw my "butts" out the door!! I also pick up my dog's poop. What is with the amount of the poop??? Now - I am sure that the office would say "according to the fair housing act we can not MAKE anyone pick up anything they don't want to"!! The manager has used that phrase with me too!! Fair according to whom??? I have asked for things that I am not allowed according to that act but see other's allowed things that I am not. Seems like the "RANDOM fair housing act".

It states clearly in the lease that dog owners MUST pick up the poop or there is a fine - must not be enforced as I would think it would be expensive after the 2nd time!!

Also - the stray cats!! Pee and poop and sleep all over the bushes, cars and floor mats!! AGAIN - the lease clearly states that cats MUST be inside. The office staff took 6 weeks last summer to do ANYTHING about my complaint - I complained mulitiple times during that time. The cats are back and I don't even want to complain about them again - the office staff is so rude about it all that I don't even want to walk into the office.

There is one woman in the office that has been at least nice and helpfull when I think she can help - I don't remember her name but I think it is Tara or something like that. Like I said she is nice and trys to help - I think she can only do so much however.

The noise is a big problem here. The apartment above us has two adults and a child - sounds like a pack of wild donkeys!! Every AM at 4AM we are awoken by them simply walking around. Kids will be kids and ppl must be able to walk around their apartment when ever they want - that I understand - BUT - the ceilings/floors are soooooo thin that it is VERY loud. Apartment or not - nothing should be that loud!!!

Also - Visitor parking. Most of the ppl who park there live here. They take up all 5 spaces at our building. 5 spaces!!!!! That is just plain stupid - every time anyone wants to come over to visit they have to park about 1/2 mile away from our place and let me tell you - I would NOT recommend parking your car in that back lot!! Very scary back there!!

Only live at Holly Ridge if you can't afford anything else!! The staff for the most part is a joke. You WILL step in dog poop. You will get no sleep and your friend's will not want to come and visit due to the fact that they can't park within a resonable distance from your place.
