Cons:
1. The parking/towing is the worst thing ever. Completely unorganized. A couple of months into me living here, they handed out stickers to put into your back or front window of your car. It has your parking spot number written on it.
Well my mom and I were on the lease and we had a covered spot and an uncovered. I came home and parked in our covered spot to take my groceries out of my car, and I came out to my car 10 minutes later and it was towed. Well my sticker did have the other spot written down on it, but they both belonged to us, and I got towed anyway.
I called the apartment and they said they couldn't do anything about it. Even though I was parked in MY covered spot. The apartment staff and the towing company were both very rude.
2. In the first two months, I think the police went to my next door neighbors place three times. They would fight a lot and I heard most of it. The walls were pretty thin and I could hear them fighting along with my neighbors upstairs.
3. My neighbors down the hall were very messy and left their trash outside the apartment door quite often, and I think they were kicked out due to messiness. (We saw some cockroaches in the hallway near their door)
4. The outdoor lights for my entire building/complex kept going out for probably three/four months. I didn't feel safe walking outside because even the parking lot lights would go out at night, and of course there was no staff at night time to fix it.
5. They didn't get done with the remodeling for the workout room until my last month there. So the entire two years I lived there they had no workout facility.
6. My mother came home one night and there was a man in the hallway of our 2nd floor unit with a knife. She called the police, and when they showed up to arrest him, he fought with them until they took him away. She later found out from the apartment, that he was one of our neighbors.
7. They lost my last check I wrote them. Pretty unprofessional if you ask me =/
8. Last but not least, when we were moving out and taking the u haul back to the station. We left my mothers van in the visitors parking spot since we had just turned in the keys to the apartment. We were gone for about half an hour since we drove down the street with the u haul, and we came back and her van had been towed.
NO.... NOT because it was parked in the visitors spot while we were not in the complex.... But because we had not taken her parking sticker out of her back window, and the tow truck driver saw that we should have been parked in "our" spot, and not using the visitors spot. So even though he thought we paid rent there, he towed us for parking in a visitors spot. Absolutely ridiculous!
So okay, they win.. They're rude and have a horrible towing policy. We let the towing company know we will be coming to get the van out of tow. Well another bad run of luck, my windshield wipers broke, so I called them back to let them know I'd be about thirty minutes late. She told me since I was going to be late and they had to make appointments to pick up the vehicles, it would cost me an extra seventy dollars for making the tow truck driver wait. I told her that wasn't fair, and I was just calling to be nice.
Again I didn't win and I had to pay around four hundred to get another vehicle out of tow. I later looked up Dinky's Towing and found out they've had multiple complaints with the Better Business Bureau about the way they run their business.
Pros:
1. I really liked the floor plan of the apartment, and I really liked the closet space. It had a ton of closet space, and all my appliances ran wonderful.
The only thing I thought was weird about the inside, was the fact there were no lights in the living room.
Overall, I got what I paid for. Rent was cheap compared to most of the apartments around Portland. The staff wasn't horrible, but they definitely weren't great by any means.
The apartment is cute but watch out for Dinky's Towing. They're rude =)

Holly Ridge sucks I would never ever live there. The management cares only about money. I think that it should be called " White Trash Central". When I lived there the cops where there on daily bases and sometimes more than once a day. The management is rude and disrespectful and they should really think about hiring some new professional people but, they won't. My advice don't move in.
