When we first moved in we thought this place was great. Nice big apartment, washer and dryer so we didn't have to use a nasty laundry room... But then the first time it rained, the water collected somehow into a giant bubble under the latex paint above our fireplace... it went away and then never showed up again, but obviously if water is leaking in that badly from somewhere, something isn't right. We were on the bottom floor, so we had neighbors upstairs pounding about. I could literally hear the guy above us peeing in his toilet, the sound of the stream hitting the water echoed down into my bathroom, which is a bit disturbing. There was black mold all around the windows, despite us bleaching and scrubbing at it, there were caramel colored streaks running down the walls, which became brighter as time went on, especially in the bathroom, like someone had smoked in the apartment and it had just been painted over or something like that... Our parking spot was really far away from our apartment, and the only solution offered was to "talk to your neighbors and see if anyone wants to switch". Our spot was right next to visitor's spots so even though we had only one car, when I'd come home from working swing shift my spot would be taken a lot of the time and I had to park on the street (and our apartment was in the corner that was the furthest from either street) and then walk by myself (I'm a female, alone, at 12-1am) through a section of the complex whose lights were always burnt out... to get the car who parked in my spot towed so I could park in my own spot took forever the one time we did it, so we just didn't bother after that. There were multiple flyers put on everyone's doors requesting that people clean up after their dogs but there was still a giant pile of dog crap outside my apartment, which eventually got so big it spread to the sidewalk. I got notices threatening a fine if I didn't take down my green curtain that was over the empty spot above my air conditioner, because the apartments were supposed to look uniform from the outside and we could only put up white curtains. No ornaments were allowed in the window sills either. Also got a notice threatening a fine because I had "wood" above my air conditioner instead of plexiglass, when I bought and installed the plexiglass at the same time as the air conditioner and never had anything resembling wood in my window... Never used the pool, it was always very crowded when it was actually open. And the one time my cat escaped and I went to look for him in the grassy area behind the building, I discovered my neighbor likes to cook in the nude with the shades open. Which was just kind of awkward because I didn't want her to think I was trying to peek. Haha. Overall, just a miserable experience. I wound up living on my boyfriend's couch for the last 3 months of my lease and just paying rent on the apartment/visiting it every other day for a few hours because it was so miserable I couldn't stand to be there anymore. However, when our washer and dryer went out they did replace it really quickly. That's about the only plus...
