I lived here for nearly 3 years. My daughter came up with some pretty serious health problems, so I had her and her husband and stepson come stay with me so I could help them out. They didn't have a car, and she was very, very ill. They moved in Oct. 2008. I had told them what the situation was- my daughters illnesses, the economy, etc. and that hopefully it would be dealt with relatively shortly. Well, the illnesses were pretty bad, so they were there several months. No one said A WORD to me about them being there until 5 months later in March, when a notice was posted on my door about "unauthorized guests"!! Rules state that you can only have guests for 2 weeks, and that's why I told them they were there. Were they "authorized" guests for the 5 months previous to that' I called to ask them if there was some way to work this out, we could add them to the lease- (their credit was horrible, due to her illnesses) seeing as I was the one paying all the bills, could they just be added. They refused to work with me. I called Virginia McBride at main office and and left several messages, and only returned my 500 messages after I called her supervisor and complained that she never returned ANY of my calls to her. I told Virginia that I would rather work something out and not move. She was very rude, and refused to even engage in negotiation. I told her then that she could consider this my 30-day notice and they STILL took me to court. At the hearing, I have a document signed by the Judge stating that if compliance was met (out in 30 days) then there would be a dismissal. I was out by May 31st. I left the apartment in WAY better condition than I got it (Stove, fridge, oven were SPOTLESS! carpets steam cleaned, etc.) and I have the pictures to prove it. They just suck. So, if you are thinking about renting from C & R Realty just remember what I told you here. Heartless money grubbers who say they care, but as soon as you move in, the caring stops.
