Former tenant - mixed reviews
From: -Anonymous-Date posted: 12/28/2008
Years at this apartment: 2004 - 2007
I was one of the first tenants to move into the complex and really enjoyed the peace and quiet. Then my neighbor upstairs moved in. I woke up one morning with her and one of her friends trying to break back into the apartment through the bedroom screen window. When I heard the noise of someone outside my bedroom window, I went to check it out. The dude had the balls to ask me if I had a screwdriver or knife he could use to get in the window because the girl that lived there didn't have a key. Uh no.
Then my car was broken into. All for an empty backpack. The lighting between buildings by the mailboxes is perfect for car prowletr. Then there was the SUV that parked next to me. The spaces were too narrow, so they would open the doors onto my car (sometimes the kids would look at me as they opened the doors and hit my car), creating many dings.
I remember also the neighbors that lived next door, they were a quiet hispanic family. Until I woke up one night to hear a body being slammed against the wall between our apartments. Then the dining room window was shattered, leaving glass all over the ground. My child pointed it out to me. Oh yes, there was also a knife that one of the kids found in the grassy area behind our apartment. A huge knife. I don't know how many times I had to call the police.
Oh yeah, there was the time someone plowed into a couple of parked cars near the pool, pushing a red mustang up onto the sidewalk and making the rest of the carport unusable until it was repaired.
What saddens me is that I lived on the other side of Stark for nearly 20 years, not even 4 blocks away, and hadn't seen anything like this. All of that was down the road in Rockwood. I thought when I moved to Stark Street Crossings that the neighborhood would be just as safe as where I grew up.
Overall, I did like my apartment. It was insulated really well, only had to use the heater in the living room and one of the bedrooms. Lots of storage space, nice sized patio (as long as the upstairs neighbors don't have their kitty litter box on theirs-creating a shower of used kitty litter). Maintenance was pretty good at getting things taken care right away, as long as the guy wasn't on some kind of medical leave. They had him working really hard, he was older and would have back problems or knee problems or whatever. Parking was crappy if you wanted visitors. I would park in visitor parking just to make sure my visitors would have a spot to park in when they came over. Many dead cars w/flat tires sat in the lot a while too.
Sorry for rambling on so much - just brings back so many mixed feelings.
