Well here is an up to date on things here. The apartments are nice. I mean, they are apartments so you will have noise and have to hope for a good spot to really be happy. The bottom floors tend to be a little noisy, the middle more so, and the top a little better but you have to remember climbing the stairs will take its toll.
Basically, if you get on top and have quiet neighbors below and on the sides, its not too bad noise wise. Diesel trucks, motorcycles and the sort can sometimes be loud as well as the pool area. Occasionally you get kids running around or someone who had a few too many making a little noise but thats everywhere I suppose.
Management changed too many times and the ones in there now seem to try to make you happy. Unfortunately maintenance has been cut back and they never stick to times they tell you or it takes a long time to get to your complaints.
I personally do like the apartment but you can definitely find a better deal in the area. Market rate should not be allowed because you would never pay the price indicated for an apartment in this area period. The going rate for a one bedroom in Hillsboro/Beaverton is about 500-600. This place will push for the higher amount unless you get in on a special. But other complexes do the same also. For double the price you can own your own home so you really have to look at it financially.
In short this is what you can expect from my experience:
1)Nice apartments, bright and clean. 2)Good location. (Close to shopping) 3)Comfortable for the most part. 4)Nice features. 5)Happy sales staff. 6)Pet friendly (Deposits apply, remember to check) 7)Garages (But about double what most places charge) 8)Pool 9)Balconies (Covered) 10)Office will receive packages for you if you're not home.
And now the negatives:
1)Slow maintenance repairs. 2)Expensive Heating (electric) 3)Expensive water and sewer (Doubled since last management) 4)May be noisy depending on location. (as with most apartments) 5)Pricy (Especially when you factor in the electric, water, sewer, and trash.) 6)Doggie surprises (Lately you have to watch where you step) 7)No A/C (But it does have ceiling fans so its personal preference)
