Cortland Village was recommended to me by a friend. I will not return the favor, even to strangers.

Please be aware if you are a current resident and you are moving out. Make managment do a walk thru with you !! Do not let them tell you maintenance will do it when you leave. A month later you will get your letter with money taken out of your deposit for things like cleaning or other miscelaneous items you know you cleaned or took care of. But guess what '' When you go back to them and say hey show me the problem you stated in your letter, someone else lives in that apartment now and we can't.

I lived in many apartments on the East Coast, never had one cent of my deposit not returned because we always did our walk thru with a staff member and knew up front if anything was amiss.

The one great thing about Cortland it that it is dog friendly. Except there are 2 sets of rules. The cleaning people get to let their dog run around not on a leash, but residents don't get to. They send nasty notes to them without even verifying if it was really that particular residents dog or not. Also it is hit or miss if there are dog bags in the boxes they have posted around the complex.

Also don't try paging the maintenance crew after hours for repairs. They conveniently don't get the pages but if you don't contact them in a timely manner you will be charged for damages. What a joke.

One other thing to be aware of. When you move out, your mail that is not forwarded will be the stuff all over the floor and on top of the mailboxes for anyone living there to get ahold of. The people that commit fraud don't wear signs on their head advertising this fact. Be a good neighbor write "return to sender" or even "rts" and put it back in the outgoing. It could be you one day.

There are several more problems I could address but you get the idea.
