As a new resident of Cortland Village I have to say I am greatly surprised by some of the negative comments I have read on here because I have nothing but positive to say about this place. The staff has been nothing but friendly and responsive to my needs. Besides that, this place is gorgeous!!!
The new model is a dream apartment, and I would have moved into one of the upgraded apartments if I could have waited; however, the apartment I have now is sooooo nice, that even without all the fancier features I really love it. It has very high ceilings, a huge soaking tub, a beautiful kitchen, and is very spacious.
I go down to the clubhouse to get coffee, cookies and chat with the friendly staff whenever I want. I cannot wait until summer to try out that pool. I can understand that others may have issues, but when I read things like complaints about "snoring" being heard through the walls, I just have to say to myself that sounds like an angry person with a bone to pick. Anyone who has ever lived in an apartment knows that you have other people on the other side of the wall, and occasionally you will hear noise. If you can't live with that - for God's sake, buy a house!!! Actually, I find it very quiet here.
The grounds are immaculate and I was even impressed by their dumpster areas, as they are so camoflauged, they are hard to find. I was told by the staff, that the garbage is compressed during the week just to keep it cleaner.
The parking is very close and convenient. There are garages and carports available and the location is perfect. I can walk to stores and restaurants, and am just a few minutes drive from a great shopping mall and only about 15 minutes from the city (without traffic).
I love it hear and plan to be here for a while.

Concerning move outs, we treat our residents quite fairly, and most that complain have abused the apts in such a way that they unfortunately owe a balance as it took our owners money to repair and fix the apt home so that it could be re rented. I am quite unaware of the "same flaws remain" comment above, we have had no structural damage or repair that has needed to be addressed from an exterior building perspective and yes... we do have a goregeous home to offer on the inside. The only one of its kind in the Hillsboro market. Thank-You for your honest kind reviews, we work hard in placing our residents first and are thankful for those residents that appreciate our hard work.

the flaws are cheaper plumbing, thin walls, and no insulation between lower and upper floors.

I ilke the "treat our residents quite fairly.."- yeah while you live there. Thank God we just moved out - not a pleasent goodbye from the manager - she is very unprofessional and a B@@ch, for lack of better words and to keep it short. She was not friendly, and show clear signs, of disregard, like, "yeah, just leave the keys there, and you ready to go".
Do yourself a favor, and look somewhere else or next door.
No wonder the place is getting less and less renters- it stinks
