Just renewed

I just renewed my lease so obviously I am a bit biased, since I like it here. I moved in last year and haven't had any major issues. I was worried that my rent might go up, since I moved in with a good move in special. My rent only went up $10 and I got a month free rent. Hopefully the specials will be as good next year.

Ok, "OregonStateAlum2006"- are you, by chance, the same person who posted the response to the last review about the illiterate office staff? The same person who pointed out that they "all" have college degrees? It seems odd that that person knows that "all" of the office staff have college degrees, unless #1, they have no life and spend hours talking to them, or #2, they ARE the office staff posing as a resident.
Either way, Cortland Village is a terrible place to live. They pick out who they like and who they don't, and trust me, if they don't like you, they make your life hell. My neighbor was harassed non-stop by them, to the point where she moved out after living here and paying their extortion for a few years.
And how did your rent not get raised? Mine went up over $100, and I elected not to renew my lease. Forget having nicely manicured grounds, there is dog poop everywhere. There are always construction people parking in my parking space, garbage tossed outside the dumpster, etc. I know that the management can't control what other people do, but they CAN clean it up. I am disgusted with this place and I can't wait to move!

Dear Anonymous, We are sorry that you did not enjoy your experience at Cortland. We do have many residents that come in to chat with us, we're always happy to talk to anyone who wants to listen. Also, we keep records of what we offer people for renewals. I persoanlly have been working here for almost two years now, and I have never seen an increase over $30 for a year renewal. The rents go up more on shorter lease terms, but that is standard anywhere. We hired a new groundskeeper, and he is awesome! He empties the trash bins routinely, and walks the community daily to look for things to clean. We strive for excellence within our community, so please accept our apology, we are sorry that you didn't enjoy your experience here. |
