Not only to I speak on behalf of myself who was a tenant for 4 years, but I speak for several friends who came and happily went in the time I lived there.

Landmark has no problem raising your rent everytime your lease is up, for instance mine went from $519 to $640. Then from $640 to $730. That's when I finally called it quits and moved out. Landmark is one of the oldest and most outdated apartment complexes in the area. It's outragus what they want for rent once your lease is up. You get mismatched appliances (my "new" dishwasher had a white body and aqua/ mint green front), carpet that is 5 years old, outdated linolium, and outdated cupboards. Go across the street (either way) and you get accent walls, stainless steel matching appliances, and nice counter tops.

The worst is they make a living off you moving out. Good luck getting your security deposit back. Whether you live there a month or 10 years, everything they find wrong with the apartment will come out of your security.

Oh and good luck if you are an animal ower. You will be there scapegoat for fixing everything wrong that they can possibly come up with after you move out. They favorite thing to do now is to pet probe your five year old carpet and then tell you they found urine. Guess what....you owe them $1300.00 for carpet replacement.

I used to live at Landmark, and moved o0ut of state a year ago. I absolutely loved it, and still keep in touch with some of my neighbors. If you had a pet that urinated on the carpet, then you should be responsible for paying some of the damage. As for the appliances, the mint green fron you are talking about is a plastic protective sheet the appliance companied put on their applainces. Just peel it off and low and behold it's white underneath!!!!! As for rent increases.... if you were paying only $519 for rent, it should go up. Not sure if you price checked the area, but even $730 is a good price!

I agree with the reviewer (angboo). The rate increases were like "bait and switch". When I moved in in 2005, they offered a deal for 640 (I thought it was a good tradefoff - old apartment, cheaper price). However, 6 months later, rent went up to 825 and then 950. Finally before I moved out in late 2007, I was paying 1020 for a month to month lease. It was ridiculous. My friends who lived in the area (colonade and Lion's gate) had rent increases in the order of $5 to $20. I don't know if management is writing some of the responses who say "deal with it, this is what everyone is doing". This is NOT what everyone is doing! and that is the standard response from management without proof.
