Good enough

Overall my last 28 months here have been comfortable enough to have me stay. There has been a shortage of parking from time to time, but always something available relatively close if not right in front of my apt. Covered parking and garages are too pricey, and it seems most of the garages are used for storage by the complex.
The leaf-blowers and lawn mowers outside are extremely loud, so don't expect to sleep in past 8am. People walking up and down the steps outside are very loud also. I haven't heard the people in the unit next to me having sex lately, I wonder if they broke up.
The grass is watered even when it rains (which I think is typical Portland metro behavior) so don't plan on walking on it without sinking in mud.
The maintenance has been great. They sometimes come in and fix something I reported broken and don't leave any notice saying it was done, so that's a little bothersome but better than not having it fixed promptly. The appliances are out-dated though, so I've already had my water heater, washing machine, and dishwasher replaced.
The dishwasher had a leak that wasn't visible until I noticed my carpet was getting soaked. They told me I wouldn't have to pay for the carpet damage (my filing cabinet left a square rust stain in it), but we'll see what they say when I move out.
The rain makes a very loud and annoying tapping sound outside the window in one of the bedrooms, and the water pipes inside the walls also make a very unusual tapping sound, but I've grown to accept it.
The consistent increase in rent is annoying at each lease renewal, but I feel the price is still fair compared to neighboring communities. Heating is also very expensive in the winter. Make sure to weatherproof your own doors, windows, and especially the fireplace. You can feel the cold air blowing in all of the above.
I've never had any trouble with vandalism or theft the whole time I've been here. Neighbors are friendly enough, but I don't really like to socialize with my neighbors.
They say cats are not allowed outside so I don't let my cat out, but other tenants let their cats out which makes my cat FREAK OUT. She really wants to go outside and fight those other cats and I'm tempted to let her, just to teach the other owners a lesson.
The mentally disabled guy who pretends he's talking on an index finger and thumb cell phone while sitting near the mailboxes is pretty entertaining too.
