Watch out for the nickle and diming: It adds up to hunderds of dollars!

Beware the sneaky charges and bad service!!!!!! We were generally happy with the apartment here, due largely to our very quiet neighbors. However, the leasing company is a whole different story. I think that they must have changed hands sometime while we were here, because all of a sudden, various charges began to show up. First it was a flat fee for the sewer ($20 on top of what was usually a $15-$25 bill for water) Then they added charges to our second lease (which I didn't catch when I read it) for trash. From August 2007-August 2008 we paid about $20 per month for water, sewer and trash. By the time I moved out the bill was up to $93!!!!! (This is only water sewer and trash) Plus, since it is spread out between several communities it has nothing to do with individual usage. It wasn't like we could economize... Basically, they can keep hiking up the price and the ONLY recourse you have is to move out! Just make sure that you that you add this into your financial consideration of the place.
Also your "security deposit" will be used to pay for carpet cleaning ($65) at the end of your term.
Finally, the townhouses have faulty architecture which makes it such that if the gutters are not cleaned, rainwater will run along the beams and drip down into your apartment.
