Not Worth It - Try Palladia - Right Up The Street

I lived at Lions Gate for about a year and a half, and I wasn't impressed with the maintenance, the management or the quality of construction. The floor plans are cool, though. Parking is totally out to lunch, deliveries are difficult to get from the office, and there is one trash facility for the entire complex (be ready for a hike with your bags).
Maintenance was bad enough that I considered calling the city a couple of times. However, the problems weren't really devastating. It was just things like the bathtub faucet not working, cabinet doors that were loose, that sort of thing. I called and sent emails to the office for months, and I finally got tired of trying to get someone's attention. I don't know if it's possible to inspect an apartment before you sign a lease, but it's a good idea at this complex.
Management needs to be replaced. I was concerned enough about recriminations from management that I waited to post this until I received my rent deposit refund. There is a definite feeling among my neighbors at Lions Gate that you have to watch what you say in the office because it's easy to piss them off and they find ways to make sure you know they're pissed off.
A good example of how things are in the office:
When I was getting ready to move out, I called the office and asked for someone to walk through with me when the place was empty and clean. I wanted to identify anything that I might need to pay extra attention to in order to get my deposit back. They said "fine, just let us know." The following week I called twice to let them know that I would be there on Thursday at 5:00p to walk through. Both times I got a confirmation. I called enroute on Thursday and got another confirmation. When I got to the office, the manager came out and said "The maintenance people leave at 4:00p. Can't help you." And she walked away, and that was it. Never got a walk-through, never had a chance to explain that I had confirmed my 5:00p over and over again. Another employee eventually walked up and I turned over my keys.
Not recommended. Go up the street to Palladia.

The management company benefits from an excellent location and terrific floor plans. By EVERY other measure, the staff diminishes what would otherwise be, a perfect living experience.
