Loved it - If Nexus were closer to Portland, I'd still be living there!

Absolutely agree with the reviewer who said he/she would still live at Nexus if it wasn't so far from downtown! I lived there for a year and absolutely loved the place. I hope I can remember everything that was great about it.
First of all, the staff is very nice. Molly in particular helped us so many times with whatever we needed - from a neighbor's noisy dog to reserving the media room for an evening. The maintenance guys are super quick, too. They usually have things fixed within a couple hours, even if you put the request in online! That was another perk: you can pay your rent online.
Honestly, the quality of the buildings isn't awesome, but you don't have to fix things when they break, so who cares' When I was there, everything was brand new and beautiful, so I had no complaints. The only problem was that when we had a huge snow (winter of 2008) and the snow melted, it leaked through the sprinkler head and onto the kitchen floor! Nothing was damaged and they came to take a look as soon as we told them about it. As I said, every other maintenance request we had (leaky faucet, sticky window, etc) was answered and attended to promptly.
There's a pool in the park, which I now realize was invaluable on hot days. Though you do have AC, too, but ours wasn't terribly powerful. The gym is open 24 hours and it's got everything I needed (free weights, ellipticals, treadmills and stationary bikes).
It's so convenient - right on the Max, near New Seasons (which will FAST become your favorite store ever! They're so friendly there.) and a Winco within walking distance (for when New Seasons has totally drained your bank account). There are also a bunch of restaurants within walking distance, and of course the Max goes straight into Portland (about 45 minutes). A 10 minute drive and you're in Tanasbourne, where there is a Target, Best Buy, Safeway and everything you'll ever need. Also a Whole Foods and Macy's (among tons of other stores) nearby.
I found the complex to generally be very quiet and well maintained. Also a very safe neighborhood. We were paying about 1460 per month for a two bedroom two bath (approx. 1430 sq ft) and a garage, which was spacious as well. Lots of large closets in the apartment, washer and dryer, disposal, dishwasher etc were all of good quality. And they were fine with us painting a couple walls and we got our full deposit back (of course we primed and painted them back!).
