Cheap apts, convenient location to Orenco Station shops, brunch is a joke, MAX is great

We recently moved here in February. The apartment itself is spacious and appears nice. But look deeper. The toilets are cheap "Crane' brand which sprays all over the seat. You can tell they purchased cheap appliances and fixtures. The sink disposal is another crappy appliance. Is about 1/8th HP and has difficulty grinding veggies up.
The apartment construction is pretty lame. You can here people walking and flushing above you. We are on the ground floor and hear every step, toilet flush, and sink run above us. Cheap construction! These places will be dumps in a few years. If this were Miami these places would tumble in a heart beat.
I will also agree with the previous post about low pressure shower heads. We did the same and replaced them w/ $6 heads from Fred Myer's. Makes a world of difference. Nothing worse than low pressure heads.
The landscaping is nice and the areas are well lit. But I will agree with the previous poster about dog crap all over. The people in this complex are some of the laziest I have ever encountered in my 39 years on Earth. Coming from one of the fatest cities, Philly, these people are some of the fatest and laziest I've seen. All this nature and room, yet they don't pick up their dog crap. And the bags are right there!
The stores at Orenco Station are convenient, but do your major shopping at Fred Myer's. New Seasons is way over-priced and their veggie section is pathetic. The Starbucks and restaurants are nice when you want something close by. For Sushi go to "Sushi and Maki" at 2401 NE Cornell Rd, very close and the best we've had in Portland so far. There is also a Pet Store which selld the best natural and organic brand gluten-free pet foods. They also have a bunch of "raw" varieties available.
The fitness center is OK. The equipment isn't Precor or top notch, but it works and does the job. The ellipticals are fine and I have no problem using any of the preprogrammed features. Easy to use and get a good workout in. They also have cable TV, treadmills, a recumbant bike, and nautilus types of equipment for weight lifting.
The Sunday brunch held on the 1st Sunday of every month is a joke. The big boobed, dark haired woman who worked it this past weekend is a real loser. She has the personality of a pine tree. You walk in and no one says hi, even when you do. Not very warm and friendly. Chirst, I'm a Philly person and thought my attitude sucked, lol. Maybe she needs a cheese steak shoved up her caboose. I will say Kendra is very nice, but she is the only good example of customer service there. The rest are POSs.
The best part about Orenco Gardens is the Max. It is right behind our building and sooo convenient. We ride it everywhere. Learn the bus system and you can get around without the stress of driving. I was told Oregonians are the worst drivers...and they are. I've never seen so many people use the left lane.
So in summary, the apts are OK, for a short-term stay, but not for more than 6 months to a year. Replace those shower heads, you will thank me later. Area is great with lots of Restaurants and stores close by. Fitness is free and gets the job done. MAX and bus system is awesome, better than Philly or NYC. Brunch...you won't meet anyone interesting and the dark haired freaky woman needs her ass kicked.

Seriously.....With comments like "The big boobed, freaky lady" I can definately see why she wouldn't let on to you that she has a better personality than a pine-tree. How rude, are you? If Philly is so cool, move back!!!! And if Sunday brunch is such a joke, why were you there? I'm sure you filled you plate up more than once with the gourmet food that big boobed lady put together for unappreciative residents. Orenco is one of the best apartments I've ever lived in. It is by no means a custom built home, but its pretty darn nice. My toilet works fine, I just remember to put the lid down. :) Everyone at Orenco is Nice!!!! |

Wow. Needs her ass kicked? That seems a little harsh. I'm not sure how comments like that are constructive to potential renters either. Cool you are on such a high horse. The rest of us who enjoy living here will be glad to see you go.

You give east coasters a bad name dickhead! No one at brunch probably said anything to you because you come across as a complete douche. It seriously sounds like you have some issues. And frankly, what kind of contribution is it to describe people as fat and lazy? Its ridiculous posts like this that make this website nearly worthless because only angry retarded -------s like you ever bother posting.

Anonymous your an idiot. It's easy to call people a dickhead when you're hiding. At least I give my name, plus I wear alot of Philly clothing, i.e. Eagles, Phillies. I'm not the one hiding. I stand behind what I say. Frankly, I think my post was very helpful to future renters. I describe the pros and cons.
Your the dickhead that posts nothing substantial. Now go clean your dog ---- lard ass.
