First of all, I wish people would not use this site to expose their attitude problems, rather use it to give an honest depiction of their experiences and opinions about the property. We all have conflicts and confrontations with others, but it is how these conflicts are resolved that measures the true worth of a person. I am writing a review because I actually was the individual involved in a confrontation with the staff that is referred to in the review written by the REAL joker getting a glass of water and "catching" the end of a situation that, as it turns out, he knew nothing about. To make a long story short, the confrontation I had was a huge misunderstanding and escalated because I misinterpreted the intentions of one of the manager's staff. I was trying to get paper from the office's supply to print something and the staff was simply attempting to explain the problem with the printer and the ink when I kinda lost my head. I was asked to leave by her...I refused...then I was asked to leave by the maintence manager because, come to find out later, the poor woman was actually threatened by me. And the maintence manager handled the situation calmly and professionally. I finally left, and once I had a moment to reflect on the whole thing I realized I had been completely out of line. Shortly thereafter, I called to ask permission to resolve the conflict in person and to apologize. The staff graciously gave me the opportunity, as they really didn't have to. In short, the meeting with her went great (not sure if she wants me to mention her name), we had a great conversation and she was very kind and understanding about the whole thing! I also apologized to the maintenance manager and had yet another great conversation with the apartment manager this morning! I am being totally honest...unlike others I feel that have written on this site...when I say that having met and talked to the ladies in the office I feel they are wonderful people and are truly in this job for the customer service and they truly are here just to help us. Although, it didn't take talking to them to realize this. They have always been gracious about the use of the computers and getting paper and answering any questions that I have had about...anything, in fact. I have never had a problem with anyone since my wife and I moved in here a year ago. It is a great, quiet place with great amenities. From the computer lab, to a nice, clean workout facility, to free Starbuck's coffee! Which they are always gracious to make sure is full...trust me, I have asked. They have always been nice to my wife and I. And, with the exception of my blowup, I feel we have always been nice to them. So maybe that's the moral of the story...treat others as you would like to be treated...or treat others as you would treat your grandma! So, STOP bashing these poor women and treat them like ladies! And those reading this...take the bad reviews with a grain of salt because until I realized I was wrong in this instance, I was about to write a nasty review too. Listen to those reviews that are detailed and poignant written by intelligent people without the hints of sarcasm or anger. Unfortunately, my wife and I have to move to another city...but, feel free to take our spot! P.S. My overall rating for Orenco is more like a 4.5 than a 4. That's all...

I thought of a couple things I didn't mention. First, parking is something I never take for granted anymore having lived in the downtown area of a much larger city. At Orenco, we were able to park a mere several feet from the walkway to our apartment and could see our cars from our huge front window (also nice) at all times. Not that we felt we needed to because we have never had a problem with our cars being f'ed with either...another nice perk I no longer take for granted. Which brings me to my second point...safety. My wife was here by herself while I was out-of-state for some time and she is very keen on her surroundings and aware of her safety...and she has never once felt unsafe walking to or from her vehicle. And when our dog has had late night emergencies, we have always been greeted with a peaceful and quiet outdoors. If there is one thing you can't put a price on it is the safety of your spouse and children...RIGHT? If you can't even agree with that than don't bother commenting...thanks. And lastly, maintenance keeps the grounds clean and looking respectful. Now if I could just find the idiots who refuse to clean up after their dogs and rub THEIR nose in it....aahhhh, then that would be great!
