Give this place a look-see before making a decision!

We decided on these apartments after carefully looking around at all of the surrounding communities. We have only one vehicle, so the proximity to the Max was an important factor in our decision-making. Other bonuses included that they accept pets of all sizes, and all of the living spaces were much more spacious than the others we'd seen. I like to work out in the fitness room, and we are looking forward to using the pool once the weather becomes nicer. The grounds are kept very nice, and I feel very safe living here. I think that anyone concerned about noise should definitely consider a place on the top (third) floor, and away from the Max line. For anyone renting a main or second floor apt., expect to hear your neighbors on top of you, especially if they tend to be noisy. This is expected in any apt. complex, however, and not unique to this one. I would recommend this complex to anyone seeking a family and pet-oriented community that is close to many amenities including the Orenco Station shops (restaurants, dentist, banking, New Seasons grocery store, spa). The pluses definitely outnumber the disadvantages of slow maintenance attention. Another consideration is that large furniture is difficult to maneuver in the narrow staircase. The leasing agents have always been friendly and helpful. I read the negative reviews before we saw the property and almost didn't view the model home - which would have been a terrible mistake. We are very happy here and plan to stay for a while! So come and see for yourself!

Having lived there for several years...here's what you can expect. They will up your rent as soon as your lease is up and will continue to do so at each lease renewal. The rent has increased by approximately $350 since we first moved in.The only reward for renewing is a big $200 off your first month's rent. They also add in a charge for internet service and parking which used to be free. The newest charge is that you are now required to purchase $50,000 in Personal Liability Insurance. As far as the staff, most of the leasing staff are extremely friendly but there is one agent you can expect to get no warmth from. Facilities are fairly well kept and they have always made repairs or even light bulb changes quickly.
I can honestly say we did like living there and didn't want to leave but were extremely frustrated by the management company that runs Orenco Gardens. They show no interest in keeping long term residents by adding on extra fees and raising the rent each year. Sadly, we had some great neighbors and almost all of them have left. If you can afford to live with the increasing fees and rent...go for it...if you are looking for a long term stay I would advise you to look elsewhere.
