The Pros and Cons

Well, I have been renting here since mid Feb. of this year. My boyfriend and I literally looked at close to 100 apartments around Portland and this was the only one that we liked. That doesn't mean it's perfect, but it's better than any other place we found. So here are the pros and cons.
Pros:
-Very nice appearence, they do a lot to keep the grounds nice.
-Good floor plans - pretty spacious except for kitchen.
-Maintenance is fast to respond to any problems.
-Gals in the office are nice and helpful. (Michele helped us with our lease and she was awesome)
CONS:
-Occasionally can hear upstairs neighboor, which is probably true for most apts. but if you're thinking of renting you should know.
-Stairwell is on other side of bedroom wall so you can here people going up and down the stairs when you are in bed, don't like this!
-And the smell of pot that someone else wrote about is definately true. My down stairs neighboors can't even close the drapes before hand.
-Nice pool and hot tub, but the heater has broken twice this summer and the hot tub has been broken for about a month!
-Having no air conditioning SUCKS, but I guess that is an Oregon thing, not a rock creek thing
I read about the honda problem here which was a big concern of mine when we moved in because I have a brand new honda. I have never had a problem, but just two days ago I came home from work and the windsheld to my second car was cracked! And it wasn't like that when I left for work that morning. They had mowed the grass this day and I figured they probably hit it with a rock. So I went to talk to the office and was told there was no way that I could prove it was the lawn services fault. Well guess what, I don't want to have pay a couple hundred bucks for something that never should have happened! So I am a little pissed about this! (definatly do need parking security)
So, you've heard some pros and cons, hope it helps. I think any apartment is going to have problems and this place is no exception. But I wouldn't live in any other complex. Seriously, I just look forward to the day when I don't have to rent an apt anymore!
