I don't even know where to start with this...
I think the neighbors above have installed a bowling alley. That's the only thing than can explain the incessant clomping that I hear at all hours.
As you've probably already read, others have seen/heard disrespectful motorists (2 & 4 wheeled), race their engines and speed through the parking lot. If your windows face where cars are parked (seems to be all of them), you'll hear all of this very well and much earlier than you'd like.
There are also frequent drunken(stoned') parties nearly every weekend that management seems to be unaware or uncaring of (suspect the latter). The neat thing is that these sometimes spill into the parking lot. Much entertainment always ensues. Then, hopefully, the cops or fire dept. arrives. Sometimes it's just a dumpster that goes up in flames, sometimes it's lovers or drunken idiots screaming obscenities at each other.
Cars are also broken into or stolen frequently. Not much the cops can do. Mgmt. could hire a security service, but they don't. Okay, I think I saw a rent-a-cop do a quick drive-by once, but I think he was mostly looking for expired tags so they can tow the "offending" vehicles away and support the tow companies. Some better lighting could help as a deterrent, but that's also already been covered in other reviews and seemingly not a "problem".
On one occasion, I came home to hear that the cops had been here with guns drawn and folks that bumped into them were told to go inside and lock their doors... am I living in the "hood"'''
The grounds look nice, at first. But if you take a closer, more careful look, you find that there is litter of all kinds. Cigarette butts, dog crap (which most residents don't care enough to pick up) and other things that will make you barf. There was one tentant nearby that would leave their dog out on the deck all day long. This poor pooch would urinate on the balcony, which trickled down on other renter's decks/balconies. I'm sure they loved that. The dog would also bark any time someone would pass... probably hoping that it's owner would return... who knows, but it never stopped (until they also moved, I would assume).
Sprinklers run at all hours as well. Some spray onto the building. Must be great living on a 1st floor apt. when you can't open your windows, or get soaked. Expect to get muddy if you step out your door.
Then there is the attitude you get from the mgmt. staff. Initially I was impressed at the treatment I received. They seemed sincere, competent and eager to have a new resident. Of course they are, more revenue... but once you're in, you're in. It's just a show. They're phony and view the ir tenants as cattle that they need to make quota and improve their occupancy rate. Their rent rates are non-competitive, although they claim otherwise.
The only positive thing I can say is that the maintenance person is very personable.
That said, I am definitely looking forward to the end of my lease so that I can move somewhere else. Buh-bye, Rock Creek Landing!

Congrats! I was wondering what was going on... Were you up at 1:15am last night. Sounded like it was going well. Pondered firing a few .40's through the floor to get your attention, but didn't want interrupt your streak!
