The most awful apartment living experience of my life !

I cannot even begin to explain how much i regret ever moving to tanasbourne terrace. The day I showed up with movers my apartment still wasnt cleaned . When we came back 2 hours later it was cleaned but not very well. The counter tops in the kitchen were badly stained. I was promised they would be refinished . A month or so later after I had been without use of my kitchen for 3 days I came home to a sloppy paint job on the kitchen counter tops . I also has put in a request for a dozen or so small things to be fixed and they never were . 2 months after I moved in my apartment was broken into where very personal items were stolen . A police report was filed . Because my sliding door was pried open I notified tansabourne terrace to have the door replaced . Instead a maintenance man showed up and took a hammer to the door until it appeared flat . this did not make me feel so safe . Shortly after this i transferred to another unit because my daughter and i could not sleep at night . 2 months later I was on my way out the door to work when i noticed my 2001 acura integra was missing . It turned up in portland stripped 2 weeks later . within the next month personal things started becoming obvious to me as missing . there was no more signs of forced entry but things were just disappearing . it was extremely disconcerting and creepy . My shower had and extremly awful mold problem . it was so bad it literally needed to be torn down , cleaned out and rebuilt . No matter how many times i cleaned it mold and even mushrooms would grow back . there was also a horrible fume emitting from the main bathroom everytime i flushed it . I complained about both to the front office . Maintenance showed up and didnt fix anything . they left a work order stating i should not use the shower until they get contractors out there . The contractors never showed up and by the time i moved out 2 months later the problems were still there . It was completely disgusting. I felt like i had no choice but to break my lease early as my children and i never felt safe and the apartmnent was falling apart while i continued to pay my rent on time every month . I request a copy of my credit report every year . this year when i received my copies I noticed tanasbourne terrace had pulled my credit report twice . one was legitimate ( pulled at the time i applied ) one was not . When i discussed this with one of the office representatives she became very defensive and rude and advised me it was a credit bureau error . I work with credit bureaus every day and know this is not the case . in fact tanasbourne terrace would need to inform the credit bureaus that the inquiry was an error and should be removed . the office was neither empathetic or helpful . In the end It ended up costing me $5000.00 to break my lease . I only paid to protect my credit . I will continue to warn anyone i can to stay away from tanasbourne terrace . Paying the money to get out of there was completely worth it for my peice of mind . My family and i can now sleep at night .
