First about the apartment in general:
The layout is really nice. It is a good size apartment with angled walls (not just a box). Features a garden window in the kitchen, stackable washer/dryer (small), amazing walk-in closet, dishwasher, large covered patio. On the downside, mold around the windows is bad, some in the bathroom also (poor ventilation), ugly out of date fixtures, bottom floor apts. can seem like a dungeon (not a lot of light). 1 assigned pkg. spot, was close to apt. but they changed assinments, and moved it alot further away.
About the area:
Right in the center of everything. Movies, restaurants, grocery, shopping, bus, max, schools, etc. Good location.
Other important things to consider:
When I moved in, the apartment was NOT clean! I paid $150 cleaning fee, and it was disgusting. There was hair in the tub, cigarette burns all over the bathroom and kitchen counters, lots of cigarette burns in the carpet, and the carpet was badly stained (it should have been replaced before I moved in)The tile was coming up in the kitchen. They did fix the cigarette burns all over, and shampooed my carpet about 2 months after I moved in.
I have had a number of things that needed maintenance, but they never got fixed right away. I understand though, there are a lot of apts. here. However, after the first time, I had photo albums stolen. There was no sign of forced entry, so I was suspicious. There wasn't much done about that. On another occasion, there was an attempted break-in from my patio door. I had to have the handle and screen door replaced.
The old manager Valeria was awesome, but since she has gone, the new mgmt. seems a little fake. They try to appear nice, but I wonder how real they are.
Overall, its a toss-up.
