The Colonnade

My Wife and I lived there for 9 months, and it was hell from the moment we arrived. They tried to give us the wrong apartment, they have left various vehicles in front of our place while doing construction (and no one cares to move them.) I worked graveyard at the time, and I got no sleep with the constant noise.

The only good thing? Well, if any of you are planning to move out, and you signed the move in special, pay special attention to Addendum E. It states that if you fail to fulfill the lease terms, you will have to repay your move-in special. Well, here is what we did.

We signed a year lease. We terminated the lease early by following the provisions in paragraph 12. By paying the extra months rent 30 days in advance and giving written notice, we *fulfilled the terms of the lease!* After we moved out, they sent us a bill for the 1362.00 minus our security deposit (and some cleaning fees.) I reminded them that we did fulfill the terms of the lease, and the manager, Virgina Greene, said that we still owed the money because we broke the lease. DON'T FALL FOR THAT CRAP!

By doing what it states in paragraph 12, we did not break the lease, we lawfully terminated it. After writing a letter, Virgina threatened our credit report. Fortunately, my father is a letter and wrote her a terse letter, stating that we lawfully terminated the lease and did not owe them the money.

Three days later, we get a fax from their attorney. They are refunding our deposit.

So, if you want to leave early, just let her know that you do not owe that money by lawfully terminating the lease, and you know of a man named Steve that was able to get the money back. That, and then threaten legal action if they try to get your move-in special concession fee back.

Ya wanna leave early? Just pay the extra month. They are idiots, and they deserve to be treated as such. The staff was nothing but condescending and rude. STAY FAR AWAY FROM THIS PLACE!

Did I mention the cheap construction, lousy response, and that nobody picks up after their dogs? STAY AWAY!!!!
