Make the Commons more adult friendly and "green"

The Commons is a nice place with plenty of trees and well-landscaped grounds. It even has places to walk your dog if you're a dog owner.

However, good luck trying to use the pool in the summer if you're an adult wanting to enjoy the pool or hot tub. Often, the pool is saturated with noisy, unruly kids (8-20) who monopolize the pool and hot tub without regard for others. Unfortunately, the managment doesn't have surveillance cameras or an age limit for kids older than 11 (lawsuit concerns from some rabid teen or disgruntled parent').

Also, there are no noise or courtesy rules against noisy cars, huge 4x4 trucks (oversized SUVs too), or obscene bumper stickers like the one that is plastered on a blue/white Ford truck that says "honk if you have "b**ch slapped and environmentalist". Come on! Why are people of this mentality type allowed here'

My other beef is the lack of recycling facilities here. Parking should be charged for if you own a car (the bigger the vehicle---the more you pay, and the extra revenue should be spent on building more recycling stations (take away some of the extra parking. Also, there should be a charge assessed for any garbage that is not wrapped in a plastic bag (and tied). This would be another good source of revenue to promote recycling.

The Commons is a very nice place and it could be even nicer if it became an "adult friendly," "green" community---this would encourage more renters to come who are environmentally inclined.

Finally, get rid of the extra parking by putting in more

EXTRA parking? What is this EXTRA parking you speak of? I jump for joy every time I spot a space that's actually in front of my building (which usually only happens during the day on weekends.) Anyway, they do charge for parking- those carports and garages aren't free, and I refuse to pay the extra $20-$50/month for one, so I'm stuck driving to the other side of the complex to park half the time. It's loads of fun with groceries. However, I absolutely agree with everything else you said. It actually says on my lease that there is a recycling facility available- it must be invisible. As for the noise, you're right, they don't care. The people in the apt next door to me have one of those giant trucks with the 500 decibal bass and sometimes they'll just park it in front of the building and blare it. Sometimes they'll watch movies in there. If it's not coming from the truck, then it's bass blasting in through the walls and if it's not that, then it's one of them screaming at the other (and I have no idea how many people actually live there - I've counted upwards of eight people who regularly come and go, and this is a 2bdrm). Also they have 7 cats and a really loud obnoxious kid and I am entirely positive that they do at least two different kinds of drugs in there. The point of that ranting is that I've complained to management about them on at least 5 different occasions, and I don't know if they've even written these people a note. Next will have to be the cops, I guess. I've never even tried to use the pool. What I really want to find is an adults-only residence for people UNDER 65- you'd think if old people get to live in peace the rest of us should too!
